"STOP, Ask yourself, is it really...." fell off

Help, the little box with the cover that you must lift to operate the convertible top has fallen off. Anyone have a good suggestion to hold it on. I also noticed that mine was not attached to the car body on all four side originally, kinda on the bottom only, like a hinge. Is this normal?

Mine was removed before delivery - which made me a little angry...

I saw it on the showroom cabrio and looked forward to having it - but it got stripped off in the detailing before the car was delivered. A nice little piece but I really don't miss it - and think it would probably get in the way groping for the switches during either a dark night or a bright sunny day.

I took mine off because it just wouldn't stay on and became more of a pain..it's now on the shelf with all my other MINI Collectibles...

The parts falling off this car are of the finest British craftsmanship.

From all I have read, that little plastic cover was put on as a joke. The door on mine got to where it wouldn't stay closed. It would flop around & irritate the hec out of me when the top was down so I took it off. I think it looks cleaner without it but you might ask the dealer to replace it next time you are in for servicing if you like it

It's only held on by doublesided tape...I don't think it is meant as a permanent thing. Mine fell off a while ago.

First, it was great to meet you and Mrs Snooter @ the Dragon

Second, my MCC didn't have the cover either. Besides... it'll just get in the way when you need to put the top down .

bamatt is right - it was just a MINI joke along with the contract you were suppose to sign. I doubt it is even listed in the parts book.

It isn't in the parts book--I tried to order a new one when the original sorta melted..at least that what's it looked like! I've got a replacement (my SA snagged one that fell off of another cabrio sitting on the lot) but don't have any idea what to put it on with either.

BTW, it was great to meet you and Mrs. Snooter at the Dragon. Thanks for organizing a fun drive on Saturday!

Mine appears to be on with a tiny bead of silicone or similar

The cover must be one of MINI's little jokes as mine must have been removed by the dealer or else they stopped installing them from the factory. Never saw one....

Guess I'm gonna try a little crazy glue. I kinda got attached to the little booger. Reminds me every day I put my top down, not to take myself or life to seriously

Mine fell off too and I asked the dealer for another one. He said they don't carry that as a part. Also, as previously stated, the door on it wouldn't stay shut and kept flapping around; got annoying. I thought about gluing it back on too, but decided against it.

Well I went to the autoshow, brought a good camera snapped a photo of that cover, printed it out and double sided taped it to the gap between the sunroof and the headliner, I loved it, but it had to come off for cleaning after 6-7 months, just never took the time to retape it, think I'll print off another this weekend.

My dealer (Classic in Ohio) took it off, but the salesman said they kept them. I guess many people were asking for them, so when they are removed, they put them somewhere where they can get them if needed. Check with your dealer for a new one.

I've still got mine after (close to) a year on the car. It still makes me laugh and is always noticed by new passengers.

Mine is still there. Never fallen off, door still works and I still have my sticker. The edges of the sticker are starting to peel but
