Anyone else find that antenna to be a little spastic looking?

I'm undecided if I like it or not, I'll wait 'til I see it in person to determine that. The antenna position does look a bit funky, although, where else would they put it?! Note the HUGE C-pillars, can you say "Blind spot"? I also wonder where the CHMSL will end up, don't see it in the pics. Hopefully the convertible will have a glass back window (you 'vert owners know what I'm talking about!) I haven't found out exact pricing yet, if I get word, I'll pass it on for sure  The MINI Convertible should be at dealers by Jan '04 (bad timing, isn't it!)

Cheers,
Ryan

I don't like it. The solid "lid" roof design is what makes the MINI look different from anything else. Removing the tastefully design solid roof for a cheap canvas roof, ruins the look of the car completely IMO.

I am sure that MINI is eager to compete with the newly released (albeit very late to market) '03 VW Beetle Cabrio. However, I am not into convertibles myself, so I can't appreciate the MINI OPEN completely but again I am not sold into the looks.

MINI should instead be devoting developing time to bring back the MINI Traveller station wagon. That's the one we really want.

Also the huge blind spots created by the rear C-pillars with the canvas top up is another design flop in my opinion.

MINIs were not meant to be convertibles.

I noticed that the side view with the top down shows a very nice clean line...however the image illustrating the cable system shows a roll bar behind the front seat and the overhead frame for the cables. I assume that these stay in place when the top is down thus creating a "space frame" for the top?

I'm with you on that one jo. That's the first thing about it that struck me. Not a huge fan, but I'll wait till I see it in person to judge it.
