Hi all. I've been looking for an 05-08 s convertible for a few months now and I came across a 2007 black JCW cooperS convertible with 103k on it. I haven't seen it in person yet but it looks pretty clean. It has had 4 owners and it's at a dealer in PA. They are asking 6300 which they say is firm but I'd still try to talk them down a bit. Just wanted your opinions if it is a decent deal. I'm getting the carfax but according to them it's never been in an accident. Thanks for any input.
FYI -- CarFax doesn't necessarily have total information on a vehicle (only if it's reported) so be sure and check it before buying. Look for body panels with paint that doesn't exactly match, etc. It's best to view on a sunny day so that imperfections can be easily seen.
Yep, and contact the local MINI dealer and see what has been done, some dealers will tell you what was done, but they will not give you confidential info.
Yes it is a JWC car. It's at a used car dealer now so until I get the carfax I wont know where the car came to know who the local dealer would be. Is there anything specifically I should be looking for when I go to look at it. Thanks again for all your input.
Not a bad looking car. If you can't get them to negotiate see if they will replace the chrome trim around the rear of the cabrio top as they are about $400 so it's a big chunk and they are all bad.
One thing I noticed is the plastic coolant expansion tank. They will fail at the seam eventually. Aluminum tanks are available on ebay and easy to install and the cap should fit.

That would be a Pre Purchase Inspection from a qualified mechanic who knows MINIs. The only thing worse than a new car dealer is a used car dealer and they will screw you anyway they can. They have people who will put lots of lipstick on the pig.
