Does anyone know this mini?

Just saw this for sale at a local dealer. about 99k miles only drawback is that its an automatic. Should I be worried about the auto trans? It pbly has no history other than a carfax from the dealer. Its not a mini dealer btw.

Ok, it is a vert, so it will be found in the gen 1 area. The 07 and 08, were still gen 1's. The "S" with the auto have proven to be reliable.
This is a very nice looking MCS vert! (convertible)

Thanks. I thought it was a bit unusual. Im pretty familiar with MINIS Ive had an R50, and a 2006 facelift R52. Sold it R52 and now I regret it. Trying to find a local replcaement. Hoping someone here might recognize this as its a bit different.

It has the JCW areo package at least on the front. (can't see sides or back)
It is supercharged and that is the way to go!

It has the complete JCW areo kit, but the engine looks like the standard "S" engine (although the valve cover may have been replaced and the intercooler cover has been painted, so who knows on that!
It has the JCW strut brace. I think?
It has the chrono package with the NAV system.
HK radio speaker system covers. (in the front)
It has the good headlights.
Rally lights
The good seats.
The vin will have to tell what the engine is.

^^ +1 Someone did a custom dash and door paint job on those older chili red trims. Nice loaded R52.

Well..... Went to drive it today. Pretty looking car.but, top has some operational issues, transmission was horrible right from the start, it clunked and slipped between shifts, it needed brakes and rotors X4 the screen on the Nav system had kind of bubbles. Needless to say it was a no go. That was a shame - nicely put together car - oh well! Thanks for all the help

Very sad! Keep looking. Gen 1's with manual are really fun to drive. We have seen them with over 600K miles, without a rebuild. My 06 R53 JCW has over 160K miles and I would trust it to go anywhere. (and have)
Keep looking!
By the way, usually the top can be worked out pretty easily, with help, of others in the gen 1 section.

Ive had 2 gen ones previously. an R50 and R52. Never should have sold the R52. The top was least of worries. It was the general feeling of the car being tired. Yea Ill keep looking for the right car. I really to prefer a gen 1 (R52).

Thanks for all the help

Well compromise time has struck. Living in the boonies and not wanting to travel far is kind of a priority. I stumbled upon a 2015 F56 in moonwalk Grey with a stick very nicely optioned and only 29K miles and good history and a great price. I'll probably pick it up next week.

The "S" auto is far from "reliable". I would not buy another ever. If you do want it you need to check out the shifting of the auto very thoroughly. It can take 20 minutes of driving for the fluid to heat up and many only start shifting poorly once hot. If you can't verify that the valve body has been changed and fluid changed at least once by now, then expect to need a $1500 valve body job within the next year. Look for harsh shifts, rpm flares between shifts, slipping, and clunks into reverse.

Wait for the manual, way more fun and fewer issues.
