Like you to know, So that you know, You should Know

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to pop in, introduce myself and clear up a few items that are floating around. I'm the somewhat new owner of Motoring Alliance. I'm not a company and I moonlight (i.e. I have a daytime job) to keep the site up and running. Recently we did migrate the site to a new platform... but the migration had a number of issues I'm working through with the help of a few member. I can't wait till that gets done so I can get back to working on my MINI.

That said, I want to add my opinion on site comparisons that seem to be popping up (Reference Thread: Example). While there are differences, I believe both are good forums, have good members and we should leverage the strengths of each compared to saying one is better than that other. For me I grew up on automotive forums. I find that historically I bounce between forums as different ones have different cultures and strengths. I also, 100% prefer them over social media for a number of reasons.

Regarding some of the comments regarding site stats in the previously mentioned thread, it's accurate. That was one of the results of the migration issues. That said, it should be fixed soon. (Fingers crossed)

Thanks for letting me join and I look forward to joining in on the discussion -

Sully

I have been a member here sense 2005. I ended up spending my time on MA. I have come back here because of WnW's kind hospitable. I have posted a few times but am mostly reading and getting back in the flow of things here. I appreciated all of Sully hard work revamping MA. Our forum are different but I believe that is good. We have a lot of Gen1 guys. I am one. Now my wife has a R57 and I have my R53 and an R58 so I am trying to learn more about the Gen2 cars. If you get a chance come over and introduce yourself. NAM is mush bigger than MA. Think of us as small town and NAM as a big city. Both are fun but for different reasons

I enjoy the interaction and the knowledge library that a forum offers. I would like to have the ability to visit other MINI forums where there are different perspectives and unique flavors.

With folks like Sully, I have that ability.

Thanks

The more the merrier. One can never have too much information and different points of view often lead to innovative solutions to a problem. There are a lot of knowledge people out there that have left both sites because of the past difficulties. Let us go onward and upward. Now, if someone can tell me what the best oil is and what tires I should use...
