R52 Budget exhaust ideas anyone?

I'd like to get my exhaust repaired - as it sounds awful currently (hole in the drivers side muffler),
The only solutions I see for the convertibles are roughly $1000 kits + installation costs. This just seems
a ridiculous amount to spend on a $5000 car. The one-ball solution would even be acceptable to me, but
the muffler thats needed is the one with a hole.

Manzo has a $375 solution, and Walmart.com a $275 kit. Has anyone used either of these? Or are there any
other ideas that are out there?

Thanks!

I put a new Ireland Engineering exhaust on my r52 several years ago when I had that car. It fit fine with one minor alteration.....I placed spacers between the rear cross brace and the car and bought new longer bolts. That gave enough clearance for the exhaust. I’ll see if I can find a pic.....seems like I took a pic of what I did, but that’s been a long time ago.

Just watch as some companies have a call out for R52 and R53 versions as the R52 has little less room through the tunnel/ support brace sections.
