Is my top working right?

I just picked up a new to me 2006 S convertible two days ago. I have been wandering about the function of the top. When you press the open button. Is it only supposed to side the sun roof open and stop. Then you have to release the button and hit it again to fully open it? Seams a little off pudding. Also my side windows only role down partway.

Is this normal function? The dealer assured me it was but still didn't seam quite right. Unfortunately I did not get a owners manual with the purchase.

Thanks,
Jason

While we are at it. Is there anything I should know to keep the mechanicals in shape? I searched and only found threads about keeping the cloth maintained. But is there any periodical maintenance on the rails? Such as lubricating pulleys, moving joints etc?

Thanks again
Jason

Congrats on the new R52. And I've seen a few threads about lubing some of the mechanicals, but I haven't done it yet. as for the buttons, what you describe is how mine works. Including the winidows.

That's the way it works. The down window button is a push and release, BTW. I use a dry lube like 'Liquid Wrench' on the scissor joints and cable run periodically. Use either Ragg Topp or 303 on the canvas religiously. Also, if you didn't get one with it, begin a serious search for a wind deflector. You really want one of those. Visit Way Motor Works and order a Light-in-sight as well. But most of all enjoy many miles of topless motoring. Winter time topless can earn bragging rights. 19° just the other day.

Thanks for the advice all!

I have long been into Jeeps so this is not my first rodeo in the topless adventures category. But is the first with a automatic push button. feels like I am cheating .

Winter time topless bragging rights already earned!
