Need CAI for r52 2007 s supercharged converitble automatic

Hi yall,

My friend needs a cold air intake for his 2007 MCS Supercharged Convertible with the Automatic transmission. Called K&N and they have nothing that will fit this MINI because it has a supercharger instead of a turbo. Any ideas? He would rather buy one than have to build one. Thanks guys!

We found one at ALTA Performance the AMP-INT-220V2. This was the last one in stock. Alta told us they would not make any more as they do not have demand for these. Good thing my friend got the last one. Only $160 with 5% discount! Thanks Alta!

ALTA CAI....good call

The R-53 CAI will work on the 2007 S Cabrio-52, if it's an automatic be sure to get the inlet hose with duel spigots designated for the Steptroniocs tranny.

I have the Alta V2 on my 07 R52 MCSa and paid $128 when they had a sale...with the silicone tube...

I would wait for a sale...usually around the holidays...4th of July is coming up.

DDM, M7, Cravenspeed, and Helix CAI should fit...but you don't get the silicone tube.

DDM CAI (http://www.ddmworks.com) works on the 08 Automatic (just about to buy one for mine). $189. Bonus is it's reversible - no cutting - so you can remove it and sell it on NAM if you ever were to sell your car.......

I've read all the posts I could find about CAIs. Seems like a good first step for my 2007 MCs automatic convertible.

I don't mind additional sound when I step on it, but at idle or normal driving (like my wife drives it), I don't want alot of additional noise. My wife will kill me if this thing sounds like a harley at idle.

So, of the major manufacturers, DDM, M7, Cravenspeed, Helix, Alta - can anyone tell me which is the loudest, which is the quietest??

Also, I'm confused about the post above that says Alta doesn't make a CAI for the 07 MCS automatic, according to their website they do....

I don't see where to purchase the inlet hose with duel spigots on the Alta website, can you help? I have an '07 MCS Conv with the steptronic automatic. Definitely want to install a CAI. thanks much...

@weeds

Check out: http://www.altaperformance.com/products/show/45 Per the Compatibility tab it shows it'll work on a 05-09 S Convertible.

Regarding your noise piece, the CAI I have is the least noticeable change I have made - it is drowned out by the wonderful screaming banshee pulley reduction when I put my foot to the floor, and not really noticeable in "regular" driving. Of course the Alta CAI is supposed to be a bit louder than most. If at all worried you might want to consider one of the ones where you can revert back to the OEM, as I believe the Alta involves some cutting to the trim.
