MINI is filming a commercial right outside my apartment. They have several cars out there, one of which is a gold color convertible (black top). I'll try and snap a few pics of it. If anyone wants to see, let me know.

It just started raining. they threw a cover on the car right when i was coming outside. I'll keep an eye on it, and try to get some pics. The weather looks pretty bad, and they only have the streets blocked off for one more hour.

BTW: I'm in downtown San Diego.

It would be really cool to see some pics if you can get them. I live in Orange County and it's pretty rainy here too. I understand that it only rains 10 days per year in San Diego. What Luck that it's raining today. The producer of he commercial must be pi**ed!

 

I've never seen a spotted MINI... this will be great... wonder what colors...

I stepped away for few minutes and when I came back, the gold convertible was gone! I guess they loaded it back into the trailer. SORRY folks!

OK, so I don't know exactly what "troll" means in this context, but I really don't understand why numb was being so brutally attacked in this thread. It seemed totally unprovoked and unjustified.

Geez what an unbelieveable post. Brutally attacked? C'mon. A brutal attack would have raped and spilled numbs entralls on the pavement. Why are people so thin skinned about what other people post. No one knows numb because they have no significant posting history. If numb had posted that I just saw Batboy driving the MINI Cooper in my driveway, the reaction would have been similar. It is hard to believe a non MINI enthusiast would pop in and post a car that none of us has ever seen, when we are obsessed with the car in all of its versions. I think suspecting someone of pulling our legs is quite natural, hence the troll discussion. My advice don't take stuff so personal!

welllllllllllllll...I for one would like to thank Numb for his desire to share something with all of us. Whether he owns a MINI or not is of no importance to me. The fact that he took the time to start the thread shows me that Numb is a good guy! (Strokes Numb's head gently) Thanks Numb!! Merry XeNoN to you and yours!

 

To the people who think/thought I am/was a troll: I understand your skepticism. I'm not a MINI enthusiast. I am a "car guy" in general though, and I was pretty sure when I saw the convertible that it was something new. Just doing my part for fellow car guys everywhere.

As for further pictures being taken...I'll do my best. This is the second day of the photo shoot, and I think they're about finished. I'll keep an eye open. BUT...the likelihood of me getting a shot of anything is very slim. Why you ask? well, I got caught taking pics and every time I got outside they cover up the front end of the car (is there a new grill for next year?). I'm serious. I know it sounds ridiculous. I'll write up the whole story later tonight when I have more time. For now I'll just say the saga involves a large German man with binoculars, the police, and very nice cinematographer.

 

Let me clarify....the reason I thought he was a troll was because he only has 2 posts and both were on this thread. Seemed odd for a first post. If it is indeed real, Kudos to him.
