Take a look at this photo please

Are these two gauges back by the cupholders/ashtray factory on a JCW car, or is this an aftermarket part?

Thank you!

I ended up buying the car... They show oil temp and voltage. I'd be shocked if you couldn't get them for an '05...

Or you should have ordered the car with the crono-pack, then you get to keep the pencil storage area. chrono-pack gives these gauges in a better package.

pencil storage? who uses pencils anymore? carpenters?

The Chrono Pack doesn't have a voltage display. It gives displays for oil temp, oil pressure and coolant temperature, along with a much larger fuel gauge. I like mine a lot, but the auxiliary gauges are nice too, if for no other reason than that space down by the cupholders not being useful for much else.

If you have the gauges in the useless space, and if you ever have to get up behind the center console to mod anything, it becomes a major PIA. You ask what mods, well... the aux input(ipod) for the radio, auto up circuit for windows (GBmini). That's two times I needed to get in there. Otherwise the more gauges you have, the better.

Speaking of the Chrono-pack, does anybody know if or how difficult it is to retrofit the a standard tach display with the chrono-pack option?

I have them in my '03 JCW too, dealer installed.

The one I pay the most attention to is the oil temp gauge, especially on the track.
