Things that go in the cup holders (and one other MINI trick)

Now, I'm talking about the stock little cup holders in the front. I've found that the 8.5 Dasani bottles you get on Delta flights in first class (yay frequent flier elite status) fit beautifully in the cup holders. 12oz starbucks (2) fits nicely, and 1 16oz fits barely... you need to make sure that you place it right so that the plug is sticking out. I think that a couple of cans of soda would probably fit fine, but I would only put diet in there, and I prefer bottles because you can close them

What else fits in there nicely as far as drinkage goes? Yes, I know, ipods and all that, but I'm specifically looking for drinkage.

As a side note, airline blankets make an excellent addition for your temperature-challenged passengers. Very warm, very small, fits perfectly behind the seat.

I got a travel mug at MTTS from MINI that fits perfectly, and the 7.5oz brew setting (medium) on my Keurig fills it exactly.

I usually just throw my cell phone in mine.
The other one has the change holder in it. I use the one between the seats or the BA afterthought holder if I'm drinking a 20 oz coke.

We have a beautiful little mineral specimen that fits perfectly into the cup holder. It's about a 1" rich blue lazurite crystal on a triangle-shaped white marble matrix. Lazurite is the principal mineral in Lapis Lazuli, giving the rock its distinctive blue color.

Why a blue crystal in our cup holder? First, because my wife and I collect Lapis (the national stone of Chile, where she was born and where we met). Second because it really complements our cool blue cabrio. And finally because lazurite is said to be a protective stone ... my wife tells of a vivid nightmare she had some years ago when back in Chile for a visit; in this dream she was being attacked by creatures with swords, and was able to fend off their blows by holding up a large blue crystal.

To the original question, I think we've fit both small water bottles and Red Bull cans in the small cup holders, but have since permanently dedicated one of them to a lazurite crystal.

I use one of my cup holders to hold my XM radio tuner. Belkin makes a holder specifically for that and it works great.

I used a couple of zip ties on the upright bars on the Big A$$ cup holder for my Sirius receiver. Works pretty good and brings it a bit closer to me to adjust channels.

Trying not to be snarky or anything, but I was really only interested in drink stuff. I'm looking because I do like to have something to drink there and if there was something I missed (like 8.5 oz water bottles off of airplanes) I'd like to know

Not snarky at all. But I think the responses go to show that the "things" that fit in those damned holes are seldom drinks.

the .5 liter "better bottle" from Camelbak fits in the cup holder just fine. I change the top out for the big bite valve- and then fill with my favorite drink (in my case, ice water). I wish the other camelbak bottles had that smaller bottom, but in a larger size than the .5 liter...

I find starbucks (aka fivebucks) Venti fits, but don't get the coozie for it. I've taken to buying travel coffee mugs with narrow bottoms, and the last one I got, I actually asked the coffee shop if I could run it out to my car to see if it fit in the cup holder. I do find it's a pain in the **** to get them in and out without turning on my seat heat or opening/closing the window...

My backseat cupholder behind my armrest keeps a container of moisturizer with a pump on it, so I can "squirt and go"...

I finally broke down and purchase a small "craft kit" bag for the front seat, where I can fit larger water bottles, soda cans, etc. It's got a flat bottom and different compartments, perferct for the slightly organizationally challeged Clubbie. What I got was made by "Scrap paper scissors" and I think it's called the mini tote. Michaels was carrying it, but currently they're not (and all the scrapbook people rave about them, so the tote is a hot item).

Hope that helps-

I dont put any beverages in them. Beverages go in the big drink holder that no one seems to like, that I love.

The little holders get the cell phone, BT when Im not using it, my ipod, stuff like that.

A 500 size bottle of Advil Liqui-Gels fits nicely in the rear cup holder under the arm rest.

12 oz soda cans fit fine...20 oz soda bottles do OK, a bit snug so hard to pull out while driving...my "MiGo" travel mug fits fine but it's tall and interferes with the toggles...Vitamin Water bottles do NOT fit...my ipod also lives in one of the cupholders usually...

The one closest to me fits my iPhone perfectly with the case on and the passenger side one is usually filled with empty Orbit wrappers lol... But I have an oil pressure and volt gauge down behind the cupholders so I usually dont like to block them

How about one for the Back cup holder? And a new one for the Eye glass slot in the Glove box?

TOMTOM

I actually set my TOMTOM in the cup. I keep the window adapter attached and put the suction cup down in the bottom of the cup holder. since it calls out directions I only need a quick glance to confirm if I am not sure of anything. It avoids the wires all over the dash and the consistant falling off the window I encounter.

Tall Starbucks with sleeve. All others without sleeve.

I bought a skinny REI water bottle that seems to fit perfectly. It has a flip-cap, which is much easier to use than a screw cap. My MINI MA gave me a water bottle with the MINI logo, but haven't tried it yet. I'm really annoyed that my travel coffee mug with the heater (plugs into cigarette lighter or USB) is too big. How do people deal with beverages that are normal sized?! I like to drink and drive!
