R52 Bike Rack for Cabrio
bike rack "news"
I ordered the CURT model hitch from Moss Mini based a half an hour installation time and no need to remove the bumper or cover.
However, after more hours than I am willing to admit, the hitch is still uninstalled and look like you may have to remove both the muffler (non-S) and the plastic bumper cover.
The minidomore or the stock model may be the only way to go. I don't think that the CURT model will fit an S anyway (it may not even fit a non-S).

I like the idea of MiniDoMore because it can be completely hidden. The sportlink stuff is just kinda odd, IMO. I've been looking around and haven't found any other options than what's mentioned here.
Trailer hitch from Moss Mini
So I had my mini dealer install the Moss mini (CURT) hitch. One hour labor at way too much per hour
. It works great but when the bike rack is in place, the back audible warning is on when in reverse.
All-in-all, though, it works well and even with CA Bay Area dealer hourly costs, cheaper than the minidomore
and you don't have to take off the bumper cover. If you are a seasoned DIYer, you probably could do it in about 2 hours (maybe less).
