For your enjoyment.. Da new MINI
Its funny, I must be the only one that hates the wheels that come on the sidewalk.. lol.. I really really like the 16 inch V spokes or the 17 inch S-Lites ( sorry had to edit this, made a boo-boo).. Also, I need to get the blacked out honey comb grill and perhaps the fron bonnet stripes. This baby needs a bit more toughness makeover.. Last sidewalk '08 sold in the Bay Area.. Fun story about how I got it to follow.. I wonder how many others have the black english leather instead of the brown cow.. In the mean time, Enjoy!

If you were not all the way over there in the Bay Area, I'd offer you my White 16" Bridge Spokes too! I love the Night Spoke look!
Whoopsy, had to edit the original post.. I meant to say that I like the 17 inch S-lites as well as the 16 inch V-spokes... Sorry for the confusion.
Or are they the Crown spokes??? argggghhhhh!!! Which are which???!!!

Whoa... wait a minute... Pete... is this you? Where have you been? Where did you end up getting the MINI, I assume not at Mountain View MINI.
I thought you gave up on MINI after that keying incident.
Well didn't you go deluxe.
Bonus Comment: I don't like those wheels that come on the sidewalk edition, so it's not just you.
What a sweet car. Makes mine look like a Toyota Yaris.

Ah, I was able to magnify your dealer plate. East Bay MINI. Good job. That's where I plan to take my MINI for servicing since NAM members have said it's a great place [and for personal feelings about MINI SF, the BMW dealership.]
I can take BART back to San Francisco if I need to leave the car.

Yep, it was simply to much of a pain in the asz to deal with Mountain View.. They are a mess over there.. You would think the owner would give me a deal on a new MINI after his dumb workers caused 2K worth of damage but noooooo he wanted full price, 2500.00 markup and all.
I said F-that. The choice came down between a triple black and the one you are seeing here which I personally ordered back in early June. I don't really care for any of sidewalk stuff except for the seats. When I compared the two with similar options, I believe the sweet english leather seats came out to being free
The black one withOUT xenons, no 17 inch wheels, NO chrono pack, NO LSD, NO rear fog light. came out to be 30,550
The Sidewalk WITH all of the above + the english leather seats was 31,650
do the math and it was a no brainer.
The funny thing about a MINI is that it doesn't look like anything how it drives...

Congrats! Glad you took delivery in the end. Seems like "karma" to me.
As for "toughness", that comes from mods. Swapping to a different wheel design that you prefer visually will do wonders right there. Stripes would work great on the hood to tie into the black canvas roof. And my personal fave on the cabrios is the aero kit... but really part of the fun is taking a car there bit by bit over time. The key thing is your car has a great spec and a powertrain that sounds like no other, thanks to the SC whine and distinctive exhaust tuning. Enjoy it pete!

Looks great! Enjoy!
I've seens some bad *** white MINIs before. I personally think that blacked out (satin) headlamp rings are a must if you want it to look more aggressive. Blacked out grills would look great too, whether its DIY or M7 ultimate grills (yeah baby!)
I also think bonnet stripes look better on the hard top.
P.S. do yourself a favor and get the 15% pulley now. Don't do what I did and wait 3 years for the warranty.

Nice, black seats are nice, but for me, the malt brown is what sold me the sidewalk package with my pepper white. I wish I would of take the chrono package, I really like that option.
Nice car, motor on

Nope you don't want "Crown Spokes"... those came out to replace the "S-lites" and ended up looking like a cheap black market knockoff of the S-lite, and that's putting it nicely.
Flat-spoked, covered lug bolts, and generally cheap looking. S-lites are anything but light but they sure do look fantastic. Somewhere on mini2 I recall a thread that showed all the OEM wheels and both their numerical nomenclature along with their 'name'... anyone recall that thread or a similar one? The mini rim names do get confusing after a while!

Nah, no crown spokes for me. I just might keep the sidewalk wheels, and paint each of the "petals" a different rainbow color.
Uh.. Maybe not I told my son who suggested it...
Why not?? he said.. ( he's 8 years old)
Uhm.. Look a nice doggy!
lol

And lemme tell ya... It is sooooooooo nice to get into the car after 12 hours of work in the ER, sink into those sofffffft english leather seats, turn on the heated seats, put the sunroof back and drive on home at 3:30am..
The soft glow of the instrument lights as well as the chrono package and the over head lights that softly shine down illuminating oh so softly the center area.. The way the shifter simply feels like butter going into gear. And then I turn on the Harmon Kardon sound and its unbelievable. I drive home and arrive 50 minutes later, wishing it took me longer to get home.
Can't remember when a car I had felt so good.

There's nothing more therapeutic than driving a convertible in the evening hours.
Add to that there is nothing more fun than driving a MINI convertible.
That combo makes the MINI an amusement ride each time you drive.

The last MINI Convertible off the assembly line was an S that went to someone in the U. S.
It's not yours, but interesting that it went to the U.S.
See attached.

I thought that the last one was a silver white.. I know that mine was made in June of sometime.. Not sure exactly when since I did not follow it online.. I wonder if there is anyway I could back track and get that information..
I will take your advice on the attachments..Sorry for the trouble.

I love the look of your car, especially w/ the english leather. You've got a very sharp looking car. This makes me wish that I would have been able to afford an R52 before they went out of prduction.
Like you, I'm not so keen on the wheels. Looks a bit more feminine that I'd normally like.
I'm sure there's plenty of people in the Bay Area willing to trade wheels with ya!
