Need fast opinion, is the sidewalk package worth it?

Going in to make some last minute changes today Im not crazy about the wheels ( though that COULD grow on me) and the auto climate control ( I'm afraid of not having control and electronic issues) but those seats ARE yummy ( though I wonder about durability)

I can get one ordered for $28,500 Without the limited slip ( which I think I should get no?)

CAn you get the chrono package and the chrome exterior package as well?

Thanks...

( PS with the pepper white, I was thinking the black leather instead of the more common brown... but in a convertible? Would be rarer since its in the last few weeks of production)

Worth it? Yes.

I liked the wheels right from the start.

Before the Sidewalk, I had always configured my dream MINI with manual AC, but auto AC is fine. Here we're either top down or blasting the AC to fend off the Texas heat, so it's not like fine-tuning the interior climate is much of an issue.

LSD? Yes, that's what almost everyone here says.

Chrono? Yes! I think mine looks cool. Some other MINI folks prefer the big center dinner plate speedo.

Chrome. Yes. Extra shiny bits are nice on a car like this.

For the price, depending on what you want, if I were going with a cabrio, I would not hesitate. You can only get those wheels on that model. It looked awesome in person.

Worth it: depends.
If you were going to get the premium and sports packages anyways: yes.
Otherwise: no, because now you're paying a lot more for options you wouldn't otherwise get.

I wouldn't worry too much about the wheels -- even if they don't grow on you, you won't have trouble trading/selling them for other wheels.
(In fact, PM me if you want to trade wheels )

On auto climate: you can manually adjust the levels (bypass auto) if you want to retain control.

What model offers the sidewalk package. I don't see it in the configurator.

Never mind. I found it. I never tried to configure a convertible.

FWIW, I've always liked the Sidewalk wheels better than both the crown and web spokes--they give the MINI a cleaner and classier look.

They're especially nice against the PW body. One of the MINI owners in our group managed to get his hands on an extra set that the dealer happened to have in stock and had them installed on his new delivery R56. I think he made a good choice...

I never looked closely at the Sidewalk package, since it came out after we ordered our two convertibles, but isn't the malt-coloured leather with "baseball" stitching a "Sidewalk-only" option as well? I've always thought that was a good-looking interior.
