I like the look a lot! Weather is better, roads still sloppy. Everytime I see a MINI cabrio with salt all over the top I cring!

We're glad our baby is tucked away, but we cant wait to drive her. We are getting a bit of a reprieve lately - temps in the 30s & 40s, but with the melting... I'll wait for dry roads.

Thanks for sharing the pic, I'll reciprocate when we can.

...........
If you saw mine, you'd either faint or take away my keys. It's 35° and sunny today so I'm heading to the car wash. My mileage should improve when I remove 10# of gunk.

Do your roads get a LOT of salt on them too? That's what i can't stand. In Minnesota we very librally apply salt and the roads all look grey by springtime before the rains wash it into our ecosystem. I really don't want salt getting into and staining the fabric top, and it's usually too cold to wash.

A tight state budget seems to have reduced salt application. And we've had mostly snow rather than ice/mix this year. Fortunately, I don't see much on the fabric.

I thought the Sidewalk Edition was a Sparkling Silver Convertible special edition..? Or is that just referring to the special packages and not the exterior color..

The MINI Convertible Sidewalk was available in five special paintwork colours: Pepper White Non-Metallic, Sparkling Silver Metallic, British Racing Green Metallic, Astro Black Metallic, and White Silver Metallic. Interior colours also varied. The main difference was the grouping of packages (Premium, Convenience, etc. and the wheels. These were the 2007 colours, not sure if more were added in 2008. Below is a link that talked about the introduction of the Sidewalk.

I have a question maybe someone here can help with with, since everyone here has a convertible...
there are 2 12 volt plugs in our MINI's, one with the cigarette lighter and the other in the boot.
does anyone know if there is power to either WITH OUT the car running? or am i missing something? seems odd that both need the car running for power to this. I'm trying to charge my GPS and can't.

thanks for any help.

Minneapolis / St. Paul checking in

Hi everyone! We took Stella out of storage on Saturday and it was fun to be motoring again!

High of 62 today High of 58 on St. Paddy's Day

We took Stella out top-down yesterday around the Lakes in Minneapolis for the 1st time this year - 58 degrees - but we were both SMILING!

Washing her tonight after work ACTUALLY GOT TO 70 Monday!

We've been driving topless for quite awhile now! We're usually in the upper 70's during the day with beautiful sunny weather. Tomorrow will be perfect cabrio weather. The temps only going up to about 70-71. Days like that make me go out for a drive on my lunch break.

New poster here!

Hello to all. I am new to this forum, and thought I'd introduce myself. I am the proud owner of Cilla, my 2007 MINI S Convert, Sidewalk edition. I live in Northeast Mississippi, although I am looking for work in/around Meridian, MS.
I am a member of the Beatles Tribute band Rubber Soul (www.rubbersoul.us).
I have really enjoyed owning Cilla, she has allowed me to keep my sanity during some really rough times I've been going through.

I've done no modifcations to her, other than attaching a reproduction circa 1966 UK Plate to her front -LGF 696D - (as a tribute to her ancestry and more!) but I want to add driving lights as well.

Hope to visit often. If there are any Mississippi/ Southern Tennessee/ Western Alabama owners here, I'd love for you to come see Rubber Soul.

Have you contacted Gulf South Motoring yet? They are your local club and are a great group of people. Their website is Gulfsouthmotoring.org .
