Top won't retract all the way down!!!

Been awhile since making a post. However, I now have a problem and wanted to see if anyone else has had the same problem with their convertible top. The top will go to the sunroof position but not go all the way down to full open position! Using the key and/or the switch it does the same thing. The little red light blinks on the indicator switch saying something is wrong. I have checked the trunk and the extra space cover is in the right position.

It will close the top (but not the windows) when I close it back into the closed position.

Is this a re-call problem? Has anyone heard of this? I have a call into my dealer in Jax,Fl service manager but they have not called be back yet. I will be taking the vehicle in for a 10,000 mile (first) service soon anyway but just wanted to know if others has ever had this problem.:impatient

Thanks!

Have you checked the contact switch in the boot? Sometimes, even if the cover is in the right place, it might not have enough pressure on the switch to close the circuit.

Edit - if that solenoid switch isn't pressed down, the top will open to sunroof, but no further . . . so it sounds like this may very well be all you're experiencing.

The boot can be released to allow larger packages to be inserted. Is it re-engaged properly. The top will not work properly if this is not set right.

Happened to me the other day. The parcel shelf was not making good contact with the switch sensors. Re-aligned, everything back to normal.
