R52 i want a vert!!!!!!!!!!!
Pros and Cons. . . there is the guilt feelings some are prone to enjoying the convertible and enjoying a MINI at the same time! I mean, there are people driving 4 door Hondas out there! They aren't evil people . . . why are we privledged when they suffer?
I feel ZERO guilt. Honda owners had a choice, just as I did. They made a bad one. I didn't. I don't lose sleep at night over their boring, humdrum, no-excitement-added box of transportation hell.
Well, in fact, the two Honda owners I had in mind are two of my sons with two of my discards!
And I've been training them their whole life to buy me a Porsche when they reach age 26!
Luckily I have one son with an 82 Rabbit convertible. Also luckily my wife is out of town as my youngest son brought his brother's "extra" head into his bedroom this afternoon while I was at work. What does this have to do with top down motoring? Apparently this is the head which will be on the car by the time my son and I drive it down the Alaskan Highway in July. I think the deal is this . . . I get a valve job done on the extra head, mail it to Alaska, son installs the exta head (this is starting Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Gallexy flashbacks) I fly to Alaska, we drive (on all four cylinders, a thing not possible today) to the AutoXpo in Fortuna, CA. Simple. Head in the bedroom, wife in the Rock & Roll Museum in Cleveland. I think we've avoided the time/space paradox!

Seeing as I own a MCS, and now a MCSC, and a (HONDA) Element, I can say that I like all three for different reasons.
I like the Element because it is our "family car" meaning that we can get us and both dogs in and go to the beach (why we got it in the first place, we lived in Florida and were at the beach every weekend) and cleaning sand out of a car with no carpet, is very nice!
Now our MCS (Soulfire) is just like the name says, FAST. We have modded the heck out of him and he is our really fun car. And after fighting over him for a while, since we BOTH want to drive all the time!
We got Cecilia for me. I have always wanted one and she just fell into my lap! and I can't be happier. Now she isn't as fast (yet ) as SF, but she will be close. and I can't leave the top up! the only time I put it up is if it is poring out! But I am so happy to be driving around in my very own Cabrio. I still can't believe that I actually own her!
Now we will see what the Clubman brings, if we like it enough, we may trade in the Element for one!
