I think the Pure Silver or Dark Silver colors contrast better with the black roof and mirrors. An all Pure Silver car looks a bit blah in my opinion where as a an all Dark Silver MCS looks stunning to the eye. The Panoramic sunroof, due to the dark tinted glass, blends in better with the black roof than it would do with white.

Also, if you want to be "different" from everyone else, you could go for a single color MINI since everyone else goes for either white or black contrasting roofs. The MINI ONE is not sold in North America, so fear not getting your car confused with the cheaper MINI in the model range. A single color MINI could well in the future enjoy a bit better resale value due to "Rarity". I think an all Silk Green Cooper with black Kaleido cloth interior could be a collector's item in the future.

The white roof blends better with Chili Red, Liquid Yellow, Velvet Red, Indy Blue, both black paints (To break out the monotony), Electric Blue among others.

I have yet to see an Indy Blue MINI with black roof.

Also, Pepper White looks its best with a contrasting Black roof/mirror caps.

Personally I like the all red! Red body red roof. but the chili red looks pretty sharp with the black roof! I actually was tossed up between the two.... but i decided on the body/roof color being red because i haven't seen a lot of mini's that were all one color!

I think having an all red mini would make me unique and anyone who knows me knows that i am a very unique person

But it isn't up to us.... i mean, we can give you our opinions..... but in the end it's your personality, and style that will dictate whether you like the body and roof the same color or contrasting!

I like the dark silver / black combo. Perhaps a bit of lapis blue/black leather in the interior to add a bit of color. Red with black looks darn good too

In the end, the color combo should suit you. If you like red/white or silver/white or dark silver/black then go for it. When you have what you want you really won't care how many other folks have it

Personally I love the two-tone look, that's part of what sets the Mini apart from everyone one else on the road. But, with that said, ultimately it's your car and you should put whatever colors on it that make you happiest. I chose an S in Chili Red with a white top, mirrors and rims knowing that over the next 12 months I'd probably see that combination over and over. But, you know what, when I was at the dealership ordering my car, they had that combo in the showroom and everytime I looked at that car I'd smile. The color just made me happy. I had the same thoughts you are having, should I order something more rare etc. etc. Go with you heart and order exactly what you want. Because if you don't you know at some point someone will pass you on the road driving the Mini you really wanted. Good luck!

That's the truth!!!

If i were in your position i'd worry about what you'd like, not what you'd like to have that may be different! (unless of course, being different is what you want?!

There is an interesting twist to ordering the same color roof and body that I noticed when I was visiting my dealership in the desision making process. I looked at all the colors present and took pictures.
After returning home color became a real issue in the process, and a strange revelation came to me as I looked at the pictures. The cars I saw (Silver, Black, and Silk Green) with body and roof the same looked taller and boxy compared to those with contrasting roofs. Moreso in the Silver and Silk Green than in the Black.
Check it out !
In the end I ended up ordering one of the colors I didn't see, and probably won't until I pick mine up !

That's a good idea!!

although, i just had a thought about my mini! I was tossed up between the red body w/ the black roof or the red body with the red roof...... but the thing is..... I'm getting a sun roof no matter what color the roof is..... the sun roof is black.. and it covers 60% of the roof...... so even if i pick red, i'll still have black on the roof! So i'm getting the best of both worlds!

Beyond the issue of personal taste, which is probably the bottom line, if the history of it all would figure in to your decision, I believe that all Mini rally cars had white roofs, per John Cooper's design, so they would be spotted in a crowd of cars. Most all the rally cars were/are red w/white and a few yellow and a few green. Personally, I just like the contrast that the white roof gives and I wanted to put the British flag on top which works best with the white background.

OK, Here is my 2 cents, and thats all it is really worth. I have the white top and the sunroof. It looks great! People have commented on it a lot. I have seen the Dark Silver car with same color ontop at the dealership. It was still there last Monday unsold. I did notice that it does looks tall and boxie. If I had my camera with me I would have taken a picture of it. Oh well, didn't plan ahead.

Even though there are alot of MINI's here in the Bay Area (4 dealerships) and I have seen many of them on the road and here on the island, they still turn heads and put smiles on peoples faces. So whatever you get will still be rare.

I called my dealer one day in July just to check-in and they surprised me by saying, "Oh, hi! Let's order your car right now..."

Just a thought, but I knew I'd be happy with either one...and I can't wait to get my "little yellow mini"

that's a REALLY good idea!! LOL If i were torn between colors i'd do the same thing!! but i'm already set with my color selection But in any case, your method of selection was very cool!! Definately relieves the burden from you about having to choose the color! LOL so if your husband is upset with the yellow you can blame it on your friend who called! ROFLMAO

LOL so it works out in all aspects! LOL You didn't have to worry about choosing... you let your friends (phone call) decide the color.....you're husband is alright w/ it being that it's got a black roof (or maybe he likes the friend who called more than the other so he doesn't mind that the better friend was the deciding call?? LOL)..... and on top of it, since he's not crazy about the color he'll drive it less leaving it open for you to drive whenever you choose! ROFLMAO You can't lose!!!!

If you want your car to look like a Chevy or a Honda, go with the same colored top and body, but on the other hand, if you want your car to look like a Mini, get the white top.

I agree with sirron no one offers different color tops. go with the contrast. White or black, day or night, ying or yang, just do it your way and have fun,

Politically incorrect and unfair.....but true.

It may be true that the contrasting roof is one of the things that make the mini unique....... but the car itself is unique enough that if you didn't want a contrasting roof.... it wouldn't make much of a difference! I mean, i don't have anything against the contrasting roof... hell, i was going to take the black roof with the chili red...... (i'm still minorly debating on it)....... but people who drive mini's who's car is all the same color are no less unique than the people w/ the chili red mini with the white roof!

In any case, In my opinion all mini's are great looking no matter whether they're all the same color, or if their roof is black or white!

I agree. I must be honest about the fact that I really don't like the look of a MINI without a contrasting black or white roof. But, they are all MINI's and they are all cool cars. Plus, people should get whatever they want and makes them happy regardless of what other people think. Anyway, I noticed you opted for black mirrors. Do they not come in the body color? If they don't then I might be more persuaded to get the the black roof so the mirrors don't stand out so much. But, I haven't seen the car so it may look great! Ignore me and do whatever you want.

actually if you pick the same roof/body colors the mirrors are automatically black.....which is part of the reason why i am reconsidering the black roof instead of the red...... I'm actually thinking of going back to the black roof idea.... LOL i originally picked the black roof......then changed my mind to the red roof w/ the red body....and now i'm thinking about changing it back LOL oh well....... i've got some time to decide!
