Dave, I know how you feel! I debated the different types of interiors, the color of the car, sunroof vs. no sunroof, white roof vs. black roof and silver rims vs. white rims. It was all I could talk about. My friends and family threatened to boycott me until I learned to talk about something other than the MINI. I'm still working on that. I've gotten to only talking about the MINI 90% of the time. I'm sure you'll change your mind several times more! By the way, I think the chili red with black roof and mirrors is hot. I almost ordered that instead of the white roof.

The only problem I see with single colored MINIs is that they tend to look taller than similar cars with either contrasting white or black roof tops.

Since the MINI ONE model is not sold in North America at least those of you who order single body color MINIs can rest assured you are getting a bit more unique cars and have no fear of getting their Coopers confused with ONE models (I am sure this is an issue in Europe where the ONE is sold).

If I were to buy a MCS in single body color I would pick Dark Silver as the car looks stunning configured this way.

The black and red DO look hot together!!! and it just so happens that black and red are my two favorite colors....... it's a tough decision! but i've got so much time to decide! But now that i've gotten to thinking about it, i may just change back and choose the black roof!! I wanted the sun roof to stand out on the roof... with the red roof...... but it wouldn't show with the black...... I'm not crazy about the white roof...... unless i were getting a black body..... but i'm hell bent on the chile red! But i'm almost definately decided on the black roof!(Again!) LMAO let's see how long this decision lasts!

I was thinking of adding a black checkerboard pattern to the roof so the squares between the checks are silver.

That sounds like a pretty MINI. Post some pics of your car when you get it. I'd like to see how your color scheme works out.

well..... first i need to decide on how much i want to put down....... which i will ask My sales woman about....... once that's decided it's only a matter of time!! If i choose (which i'm leaning more towards) to simply put the obligatory $500 for a spot on the production line....... i'll have it by january

i agree about the site! between these forums, and the forums at Mini2 i should be good until i get my mini!

 

I'll post some pictures when it's done. I'm also putting a wild audio/video system in it. I work for Kenwood, so it will have an indash touch screen CD/DVD/TV with Navigation, a music keg ( 10 gig harddrive can store about 2500 mp3s), Sirius satellite radio, up grade the speakers and add 5 channel amp with a 10" DB+ sub.
And I think I can make it all look pretty stock. I'm hoping to make small raised sub floor in the trunk to flush in the subwoofer and the amp.

i got a DS/DS MCS and i am very happy with it. i also saw a PS/PS MCS at the dealer's and it looked stunning.

Chili Red with white top is nice. From the front, one really doesn't see the black sunroof. I notice that Dave Frehley and I are partial to the Chili Red with black roof.

I went for a test drive today, and the dealership had the chili red mini with the black roof!! I almost melted when i saw it!!! I wanted to take it home right then and there!!! I wound up taking the cooper S for a spin w/ Debra (the very wonderful saleswoman ) it turned out that they didn't have any automatics on the lot, so we took a manual..... but i don't know how to drive stick shift YET so Debra drove! It wasn't any less enjoyable! But I still couldn't get over the red mini with the black roof just sitting there! That just solidified my passion for the minis, and the desire for mine to be red with the black roof!! I've decided for sure that the red/black is what i really want!

 

I have the MCS, dark silver with white roof and love it. The dark sunroof is not bad looking at all. With the mono tone paint jobs, some of the colors don't translate as well and look at unique and sporty. The decision is up to you, make sure you have seen one the way you want before ordering it, ie the ds over ds.

One thing i realized.....seeing those mini's in person....... i had only seen them in pictures...... my sis and parents told me they'd seen several driving around the city......but i.... no matter how long i was out and about, had not even seen one! So i had to rely on pictures on the miniusa.com web site, and then the user pictures on here and the minicooperonline.com forums...... but seeing those minis today....and sitting in them......it was just amazing!! And actually seeing the red mini w/ the black roof...... that just looked incredible!! and that ultimately sealed my decision for the black roof!! It had the sun roof.... and just about everything i wanted on mine.......... i was thinking about whether i would've taken that one off the lot if i had the money..... but i decided that i wouldn't.....because as much as i want one..... i'd rather wait to have MY personalized mini!! built to my specs!!! I can't wait! I think i'm going to get a plate for the front that says Dave Frehley so the users from the forums know me when we're at meets! LOL

Hey, you made a decision and your not changing your mind, right? The red with black roof is a great choice. I just got back from my dealer since they got an S in for another customer that looks like mine with similiar options. They wanted me to take a look at it since I'd never seen an S with a Nav system. I know what you mean about the "passion" for MINIs. I got so pumped up looking at it! I can barely wait for mine to get here in January!

I hope your insight is true on the all silk green resale value. Mine is scheduled for delivery next month, opted for leather instead of cloth. I have been unable to find a photo of an all silk green mini. Any ideas where I could find one?
