Well, since I ordered a Cooper my only choice is the standard Silver gloss interior trim. I like it very much, but would have loved also be able to opt for the Patinal Alloy only available in the MCS.

For 2003, there is a third interior trim choice called "Anthricite" but I haven't seen any pics of it yet.

I'm glad they are offering more options on the trim. The patina alloy looks kind of smudgy or dirty. I much prefer the silver. I will also look at the Anthricite before I choose. I wish they would offer other interior colors on the MCS like the MINI. Heck we are paying more anyway, why not get what we want?

I'd swear I saw a photo on here just a day or so ago of what the new trim is expected to look like. Of course now I can't find it. I'm not sure which way to go either.

I too have a Cooper and did not have the choice of the Patina Alloy, but to be honest I like the silver alot better anyway.

I guess I'm an oddball here - I prefer the Patina trim you get in the S. I think the silver looks very plasticy (not that the patina doesn't)...like the brightness of the silver makes it more obvious. The patina is a little darker so not quite so obtrusive and faux looking. I TOO would like to see the anthracite...just so I can see what is yet another option I'll be missing by three weeks?! Oh well...such is life!!!

Thanks to Derwood, there is a photo of the anthracite under the 2003 Pricing topic.
What do you think? I'm not sure if I like the anthracite or silver better. I'm not a big fan of the patina, but like the contrasting black panels with it.

I don't know if this is valid, but I just went to my dealer today and she said she thinks that the Anthricite interior might not be happening in the US afterall. Something about a release video that they get at the dealership. She is going to talk to the national rep and see what the truth on this is. I'll post back soon, when I've heard the final word from her.

Happy Motoring,

Jason

Thanks Jason. I'll look for your response. I spoke with my salesperson tonight and after some digging she found what she thought was the anthracite option. Supposed to check with the sales manager tomorrow and let me know.

Hmm.. there is a posting in the Owners Lounge Dated 8/10/03 (I believe) Detailing 2003 pricing, and specifically mentions the anthracite interior option as well as the change to the standard head-unit. And that was from MINIUSA.

?? Not that I want the Anthracite, but I DO want that new stereo!

I saw the press release and told my sales person about it. That's why she's checking with her rep to see what the story is.

I hope we have more options, but the HK system was on the website and seemed "official", at first, with a September release date and there's no telling if we'll ever see IT.Who knows.

I'm ordering this week, so come what may it's not going to stop that.

I'm concerned if I choose the antricite that it is new, and like all the other "new" options I'm afraid it might not really be available right away, and could delay the production of my MCS. I might go with the high gloss silver because I know they have that. And, I kind of like the contrast in the door panels of the silver/black.
