She's Home!!! Got my 2005 MCS :)

Well, after tons of trouble (and a good 150 miles or so for the last bit of road I'll be tearing up in the Mustang), I was finally able to get my 2005 MCS home yesterday. It was already dark so I couldn't take a pic. So today I got the title, registration taken care of and I can drive the car now. So glad that it didn't take as long as what some people had estimated.

So I had to take a pic for you guys and for this milestone in my life (hopefully the mini feels the same way about me ). One day I'll be able to look at pics of her life and recall great memories.

I took her out today and did some spirited driving on some windy country roads (hard to find around here). Wow.. this car really handles better than I thought it would. I was taking lower speed turns with ease.

Ok, enough. The pic! BTW, I just realized it is the same angle in the pic I put up that the owner took. Sorry but I was here in the parking lot and it was hard to find an angle that didn't have tons of obstructions. Unfortunately I got the car and now I have to work 4 days of 12 hour shifts. Next week I plan to wash/wax, and hit some pavement. There are a few areas I may look into going. I'll be taking tons of pics when the opportunity arises.

Thanks to all who gave me advice!

Very nice! Glad you found a MINI that fits you. Now, concentrate on work for the next 4 days (yeah, right!), then spend some quality time getting to really know your new friend.

is that jet black? looks like it has been professionally (not dealer) detailed. from the angle of the picture, the finish looks flawless.

It is indeed Jet Black. Not professionally detailed, just meticulously maintained by the previous owner. I almost feel bad cause I don't have a garage at the moment. It's actually a little dusty (well, pollen-y) in that pic so I can imagine it will really shine up

Thanks again guys!

Now, what mod to do first

I've never named a car before. I always assume them female but never actually named one.

How the heck do I go about doing that? Is there some standard.. lol

Just to let you know i have a 2005 MCS as well and incase this happens to you, if you ever have any kind of leak or something under your car have them check the thermostat housing, my car only has 13K on it and i had that problem. Congrats and welcome to the Jet Black club! Have fun keeping it looking good! It's a constant struggle for me, but nothing looks quite as beautiful as a shiny black MINI!

Congrats!!! She looks great. I really wanted to go with black, but it's hard keeping a car clean in western NY.

BTW, one of the first things I was told was to get into the habbit of not pulling all the way into a parking spot (I think MINI put it in their "unofficial owners manual"). Our cars are so short that some clowns come flying into what they think is an open spot...you can guess the outcome. Anyway, enjoy the ride! (I know that's Nissan's slogan, but it's a good one)

Sweet ride!! JB is tough to keep clean -- but when it is, it is stunning. . . of course, I do have a little bit of a bias.

That's a beautiful looking MINI. Congrats! I bet it's only a matter of time before she (or he) speaks to you and tells you their name.

I'm glad to see you got it all sorted out and now you can enjoy it!

I really like how the chrome mirror covers set off the black. 1st mod? hmmm-how about a 4 light rally set up?

Funny that you mention MODS
I think you could probably start with getting your windows tinted and getting some driving lights!

I had 3 people with their hands all over it today checking it out. One of them owns a nice black SRT-4 yet her was putting the most prints on it.. lol. Wonder if he's jelous

I'm going to try not to become too paranoid about the paint or I'll never enjoy it as much as I should. It's a car.. it is driven and will show wear. I will go above and beyond but not enter a state of constant paranoia. I will park at the back of the parking lot but will not park in an entirely different lot if it is full.

I can only go so far guys.. lol

Should you ever find your self-restraint too restraining, just know you would be in good company.
