There is a buzzing noise that comes intermittently from behind the dash. It is not loud but annoying. When it occurs, it begins when the car is started and continues until the engine is turned off. It continues with the key in the ACC position and stops when key is in the off position.

Any ideas? Meanwhile, the sound system drowns it out nicely.

A buzzing sound is a wonderful thing....why would you be concerned?

I would not be concerned it the buzzing continued after the key was removed and followed me throughout my workday and leisure time.

But I hold my car to rigorous standards of health, sanity and clean living.

I KNOW WHAT THIS BUZZ IS IF ITS THE SAME ONE I HAVE HAD.... HAVE YOU NOTICED ANY FLICKERING OR ARRATIC MOVEMENT FROM YOUR SPEEDO NEEDLE WHEN YOU HEAR THE BUZZ.... IF YES THEN I WOULD GUESS THAT YOU HAVE EITHER WASHED YOUR CAR OR LEFT IT IN HEAVY RAIN JUST BEFORE YOU START IT....... I RECENTLY WASHED MY MIN WITH ONE OF THOSE JET WASHERS YOU SEE ON GARAGE FOURCOURTS... HIGH PRESURE THING.... WHEN I HAD FINISHED AND STARTED CAR THE OPEN BOOT AND BONNET LIGHTS WHERE FLASHING AND HAD THE BUZZING COMING FROM DASH LASTED FOR ABOUT THIRTY SECONDS THEN STOPS ..... MY GUESS IS THAT WATER IS GETTING INTO FUSE BOX AND CREATING A BAD EARTH ... ITS HAPPENED ABOUT THREE OR FOUR TIMES SO FAR BUT IF YOUR BUZZING LASTS LONGER I WOULD GET IT CHECKED OUT ..... DONT SOUND TOO GOOD TOO ME

When a guy named "Bigbud" starts a thread about being buzzed, what are we supposed to expect? I know I was thinking the same thing. Now I'm waiting for the disclaimer. "We here at MINIUSA do not endorse or condone motoring under the influence of alcohol or any recreational pharmaceutical products."
