Mini @ Laguna Seca

Does anyone know who might have been in A red and blac top mini at Seca in late Jan.this year. Was doing a great job of giving a 911 a bad time. I was watching the event from the RV park on the hill overlooking turns 2-3-4.

Would've loved to have seen that. Unfortunately, I can't help you.

with all that lead weight hanging out behind the rear axle, it's not surprising that a mini would flog a 911 on a track w/ twists and turns

What's great is that the PlayStation Gran Tourismo 4 game has this course and I drive my virtual MINI MCS around it. Nice to see how it's really supposed to happen.

I rode shotgun in a Miata on Laguna Seca. Love the corkscrew.

driving on laguna seca is one of my dreams. we should all have a mini day at laguna seca. the corkscrew is friggin' awesome, but apparently in real life it's quite scary to drive thru 'cuz it's narrower than it seems and you really see nothing over it as you go down...sweet!

That would be sweet! Though, for me it would be a long drive to get there. I'm sure though it would be worth it.

Although, Road America is not far from where I am though so there's an alternative for me.

I live in Seaside, just a few miles from Laguna-Seca. When there's racing there I can hear the cars... very cool. The race in January was probably San Francisco SCCA, although the SFR SCCA site doesn't seem to have past events up on their calendar. There's a race coming up April 21-22 (Vintage Spring Classic) where you might see some classic Mini's. SCCA members can get in free, otherwise I believe it's $5.

I've had two of my cars on the track at MRLS, my BMW 325is and my 914. The 914 was by far "funner" if not faster. I've also done the Skip Barber racing school there. (A Christms present from the Mrs) A little pricey but helluva good time.
