Flapping Noise from front driver side wheel???

Alright....i have a 2004 MCS about 43000 miles. There is a horrible flapping noise coming from the front driver side tire/wheel...The flapping noise will speed up when you speed up and slow down when the car slows. I can't drive with the window down without it aggravating me . I took the tire off and looked around and cleaned some brake dust off thinking this would fix/reduce the noise...no...this actually caused the noise level to increase. I spun the wheel when it was jacked up and my couldnt hear anything....the tire has no defects that would cause the noise so i'm at a loss . Any ideas what this is or ways to fix it?

Did you do a very careful inspection of the tread area for rocks or nails that have managed to get stuck in there. Sometimes those can make noises and not cause the tire to lose air.

the sensor only kicks in once the pressure drops like 10% or something like that, if the nail/screw went in and stayed in the tire may not be losing any air so no low pressure light. Also did you check and see if the plastic on the A pillar is loose, that could make some noise.

I had a noise like this when I had brake dust covers on the rims. After my brake job, I didnt need the covers so the noise is gone.

Flapping noise in front

There is another possibility and that is a seperated tire tread. This would not necessarily be apparent by looking at it.
Try this: swap the front tires and see if the noise moves to the other side.
If it does then a seperation may be the source . On the other hand if it does not then try plan "B". No I don't know what plan "B" is.
Good luck!!
