Hope you guys had a good time. I thought it would be nice to have a central thread for everyone to share their Dragon Run experience and pics. I am still soooo damn jealous that I could not get to go. Hope it wasn't too rainy for ya'll!

Any info on when next year's run is?

So let the stories begin!

I got back home from Deal's Gap this evening and all I can say is... WOW!!!!

I had the greatest time! The Dragon and all the other roads we ran on Friday were awesome... I even enjoyed the torrential downpours we suffered on the way up to Pisgah!

Our MINIs parked at the Biltmore. Later we were able to pull up right in front... can't wait to see others' pic of that!

It was a great time, and I'm sorry everyone couldn't be there with us!

I had a good time. The trip down, driving the dragon, talking to my many MINI friends rather than typing at them..

Some group photos of MCO members taken on a fun run Saturday on the Foothills Parkway. I am likely to forget someone here, so forgive me: On this run were HollyRN76, zerocharisma, Mully, sndwave, MINIclo, Yucca Patrol, 2MINIs, Joe, Jason, koolmini

And another couple taken later at the Tapoco Lodge, a fabulous and charming local family resort right at the bottom of the Tail of the Dragon.

First, the rain stayed away (most of the time - We all got caught in a very strong thunder/hail storm on top of the Blue Ridge Parkway).

The Dragon was fantastic (as are most of the road around the area).

WhoooHoooooo!!!!!

One more pic of us the most flagrant off-topic MCO posters all posed with our MINI's at Tapoco Lodge.

koolmini's super-kool MINI:

And I just cannot help posting a shameless pic I took of my MINI posing beside one gorgeous field of yellow wildflowers I took on my way home further up Hwy 129 after running the Dragon on the way home with koolmini!

Actually, thank Adam (zerocharisma) for taking our photos. Everyone in the pic with a digi-cam should have an identical one thanks to him!

I'm glad I'm a heavy sleeper, since the Party Cabin was very much "a-rockin'", thanx to Zero and Mullet

Sounds like everyone had a great time. What was everyones best time and speed on the Run. I was there in late March and my best time was 18.5 minutes, at a avg. speed of 36.9 MPH.

I did a run with sndwave and YuccaPatrol which I think was 49 mph....
at the 1/2 way mark and then we slowed down.

I think one of the funniest things I saw was the
passenger who had to exit 1/2 way through so he
could toss breakfast. He was greener than the leaves...

I can't stop motoring the Dragon in my head! I don't think I can go to sleep. I'll just stay up and keep posting my random pics from the weekend!

Here are a couple interesting NON-MINI pics!

A motorcycle with the entire body wrapped in leopard print velvet.

A nice street rod:

2minis: another funny moment was in Townsend during lunch at that cafe, the waitress wasn't havin' it when you tried to put the moves on her! It was obviously pre-wash (yuk!)

It was great how receptive all the bikers were to our MINI's

Every biker I talked to seemed to think we were great as well as nuts. And any that were skeptical most likely have had a change of heart.

Thanks to everyone for putting on a wonderful show. I think we were all respectful fun and approachable and really set a great example for the MINI community with this event. It will really make planning the next event much easier with a receptive local crowd on our side.

Cheers to all who participated and made this the best weekend of my life!

I even got my MINI's dirty rear window autographed by koolmini! (koolmini was here)
