Is this a Good price for 04 MCS?

I finally saw a used MCS sitting at a BMW lot today for sale. First, time I have actually got to drive the car as well, I was very please with how it handled. Thought it rode very smooth on all road surfaces and plenty of power. Only problem I had was the gear pattern was tighter than my current 5sp.

Anyway, the car is is an 04 MCS with 20k on the odometer. Has warranty until Nov, 07. The dealership is asking $23k almost, how good of a deal is this? Seemed to have most of the options as well: xeon headlights, heated seats, foglights, pano-roof, also had a rear spoiler on the hatch. It was a very clean car.

Thanks for the comments.

I think you would do better buying from a private party. Example: I am selling my '04 S. It has all three packages - sport, luxury, and convenience - plus about $6,000 in accessories. The engine has never been messed with and it has an extended warranty. It has 32k miles. Absolutely perfect condition. Asking $18,999.

Yeah, I was kind of thinking that I could get a better buy from an individual. But compared to others I have seen it has lower miles. Also, very nice S by the way. Out of curiousity, I see you have an extended warranty. How much more does that give you?

Seemed high to me but KBB has it at 24k. Is the dealer willing to bend on the price especially with the 07 coming out?

Value Excellent $24,000
Suggested Retail Value Assumes Excellent Condition...

I think that is too expensive. Some dealers are offering discounts on new 06 MINI's on the lot. You would be much better off spending just a tiny bit more and having a brand new car with full warranty rather than purchasing an expensive extended warranty.

Not to mention that build quality really seemed to improve with the 05 and 06 models.

If you do get this 04, I wouldn't spend more than $20k.

for an 04, seems a bit up there. I bought an 06 (new) MCS at 27K. Make an offer and see if they take it. Otherwise, I'd consider an 07 which can be had for about that price.

I got my 04 with 13,000 miles on it a month ago for 20k.

The asking price is definately too high. Tell them an offer of 20 and then leave. See if they call you back or something like that.
