Recently, my MC was sick and was at the dealer for 2 1/2 weeks. I finally got it back last week.(Just in time for the NY Spring Fling this past Sunday.) Anyway, yesterday afternoon, I received a call from MINI customer service apologizing for my recent ordeal. They then told me that they would give me a $500.00 certificate for parts & accessories. I personally think this pretty cool! Now I do not know what to get with the certificate. I was thinking about fog lights, but I am not really too sure. I would appreciate any suggestions from my fellow motorers. Thanks!

Gauge package is nice. That's my next upgrade. $250.00 for it. Fog lights are nice but to much $$$.

I'll PM you my address, just forward that to me
Seriously, get some decent PIAA Driving lamps instead of fogs, your dealer should be able to order them for you, instead of the ones that come with their kit.

I agree. Even though it is "found" money, I think $400.00 is steap. Thanks for the suggestion.

Congrats on the windfall. Curious to know what had you're MINI out of action for 2 1/2 weeks? I would have been climbing the walls (unless I had a loaner MINI for the duration).

mpemburn,

A few weeks ago, I got stuck one evening when I was only 5 mile from home. Needless to say, I had to get towed. I was told that it was my clutch. I thought that was weird because I only had 7500 miles and I do not have a heavy foot. They did replace it for free. Two days later, when I left my house for work, the car made a horrible noise with a rattle. It sounded and felt like I was in a very old car. The sound went away went I got onto the highway. However, during lunch, I went to drive the car to see if the noise and rattle still appeared and if so, I would stop by the dealer on my way home from work. The sound and rattle happened again. In fact, I couldn't get into 1st gear. The car was towed again. Two days later they called and indicated that they were going to replace the transmission because the car went into some sort of "fail safe" mode whereby you couldn't shift into gear. I was told that if there was a transmission problem, this sensor would kick in so the person driving wouldn't do any serious damage. (note that they said that mine was fine) They then put in a new transmission, but I was told that the problem didn't go away and it was because the new transmission they ordered was defective. hey then ordered another transmission. I have had the car back for about a week and I am crossing my fingers that my MC will not get sick again!!

That's sad Daniel1. It's is good however that they did right by you for all the trouble you have been through. I wish my dealer did right by me when mine died the same day I picked her up.

Amazing! Good for you. One time I got a t-shirt after it took 3 months to get an appointment to get my car serviced.
