Sunroof Problem on 06 MCS

This weekend I was hard wiring a radar in my GFs car and disconnected the sunroof switch, now my GF is having a problem where the sunroof no longer tilts when you press the button forward.

When you close it from the full open position it will go to the tilt position from (so the tilt position is still working mechanically) but it is not working when you just want to tilt it (you have to open it first, then close it).

I had her try the reset proceedure but it didn't work. Short of going to the dealer, is there anything else that we can try?

Hmm. I'm not sure how much help this would be, but on my '04 MCS, you push the button UP (like towards the sky) to get the sunroof to tilt open.

Pushing mine forward simply closes it from either the full open position, or the tilted open position.

I've got an '06 MCS and it works the same way (putting button UP to tilt). Is that whay you mean by 'Forward', or are the GPs different?

Yes, I think I mean "Up" when I say forward - but I was getting the info from my GF over the phone.

The problem is it doesn't tilt when you press the button up anymore - it used to, but now it does not.

I think you're misunderstanding, if you want the sunroof to tilt from a closed position, you push the sunroof button towards the sky, not towards the front of the car.

Meaning, you push the button flat on it's surface towards the roof. Everything should be fine with the car.

Problem solved. The sunroof didn't tilt when you pushed it up, but the reset proceedure fixed it. The problem was that she forgot to push it up to tilt after the reset proceedure and instead pressed it forward.

The manual is not clear on this so thank you for the responses!
