odd noise in starting to drive

Just the other day I noticed an odd (different) noise when starting to drive.

Car had sat all day in parking deck at work. Started up fine put in first and as I began to accelerate and pull away from the spot, it grunted at me. It continued to do this a couple times ONLY in first when starting from dead stop. After a little driving it stopped.

Then after sitting over night it did it again (urggh) on starting to accelerate. Wondering if anyone else has had any similar experiences.

Also, not a problem but wondering if anyone else has a "Sticky" clutch - it feels sticky when you push to floor and let up you can feel it sticking a little - like the pedal has something keeping it from coming up - normally this happens when cold or wet and it goes away as well.

Do you have rubber mats? Even if custom cut, I find the mat can creep up, even a little bit, and catch the clutch pedal shaft as you let it out. Its not a big grab but enough to catch your attention. It happens if you laid the rubber mat over the original mat.

Yep, I have this problem, as do a number of people. You can go through the hassle of getting the transmission replaced as well as possible other parts, or you can just get used to it (mine definitely got less prevelant with time, now I hardly notice it). Do a search for "clutch squeak." Some people get slightly different noises, but I think it's all basically the same.
