Does anyone know when to change JCW air filter??

I lost my warranty and service manual.

Also will MINI pay for this since it was a 2006 Factor Option?

MINI recommends the air filter to be replaced during the inspection II. That service usually is around 60,000 miles. Have the dealer check it when you take it in, if it is excessivly dirty they may be able to get it covered. Otherwise you can just buy one, it shouldn't be to much. I would change it every 15,000 miles or so.

The reason I am asking because the cost is about 100.00 for a new filter.

I just changed mine, 22,xxx miles in 1.5yrs. It was filthy by the larger (rear) opening.

If you can find a JCW OEM filter for $100 let me know, my local dealers want ~$240. East Coast dealer is charging less, but there's shipping involved.

A lot depends on where you drive. If it's a dirty place then you'll need to change sooner. I probably won't bother to look at mine until 20,000 miles or so. When it is replacement time I'll put in a washable one.

Would $90 work?

I went with the Madness filter. Pricey, but reusable.
