Dealer Loaner

I will soon buy a Mini from a Mini dealer, however not the local dealer where I plan to take it for services. Should I expect a loaner car from them when I do give them my car for service or is that typically only a perk when I buy a car from them? Its not a huge deal, just curious.

Same here..Mine was 3 years old when I got it..it varies from dealer to dealer but I think if they have to keep the car with warranty related issues, they will give you a loaner...But I'm sure it varies from dealer to dealer...ask at your local dealer..

My MA told me that 1) you're more likely to get a loaner if you make your service appointment ahead of time, and 2) they give preference to owners who bought their MINI at that dealer. He didn't specifically say they wouldn't give a loaner to someone who didn't buy from them, though. However, I would think that this policy probably varies from dealer to dealer.

Not true if they keep it overnight. Mini of Peabody does not do loaners...at least that is what I was told when I asked.

Just ask the dealer. Could it be more simple?

East Bay MINI in Pleasanton actually sent me a notice/waiver form to sign acknowledging that MINIUSA does not have a loaner program and that the dealership itself does not provide loaners... though I've heard that they do...

I have had some service performed @ Universal MINI here in Los Angeles. Just down the street from glamorous Unversal Studios. And they informed me that loaner cars were for folks that purchased their MINI from them only. :(

At least they have a rental office from Enterprise.

Do any dealers give loaners to 18 year-olds?

As you can see, results vary significantly. Asking your nearest dealer is the only way to know, unless it's one of the ones listed above.

i was told this as well, and i am in/out/waiting in the Service Dept alll the time. never even been offered a loaner and was told they don't have a program. there was some complicated thing about them paying for a loaner from the Enterprise people if the dealership did something to cause you to be without transportation..i guess like ordering the wrong transmission or something.. dunno. it was confusing.

Might loan you bus fare (at 8.49% interest).

Seriously, it depends on the dealer. I suppose there are still a few kind souls who don't discriminate against the young.

As you can tell, it's going to vary from dealership to dealership. Just ask, it wouldn't hurt.

MINI of the Woodlands gives you a loaner if your service takes longer than 3 hours and you bought from them...

When I brought my Mini into the westchester dealer, they said I had to "wait four weeks" to bring my car in before I could get a loaner...
