I can't say that I have two Mini's, but I just wanted to welcome you to MCO, and that is a cool picture, can you make it any bigger?

Greetings to everyone here on MCO. I've been lurking for a week, but since I finally got my Mini on Sunday, I figure it's time to announce my arrival. I'm taking all my Mini pics with my Pentax K-1000 on 3600 speed BW film. Going for the high-speed, low-light, documentary effect.

None the less, my brother got a three-year full-ride scholarship to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical U, and my parents are moving to Texas, leaving both he and I on the East Coast (I'm at school in Kentucky). They were dissatisfied with the performance of my 1971 VW Bug bought for $1,200 and turned into what is essentially a 1996 VW Bug. This whole time-travel effect was acheived with about two years and $6,000 in various bits and pieces. And I still don't trust the thing to drive me 12 hours to VA  . My brother had a MGB and suffered from similar problems.

Therefore, my parents decided to get us started on the way with two Minis. His is BRG/BLK, mine PW/BLK. He's got a Cordoba interior and sunroof. I, on the other hand, HAVE A $(%*$(# MINI (no complaining from this court)!

Without further ado, here are the only digital pics of our two Mini family, snapped by Checkered Flag Mini in VA Beach.

My brother in his new Mini.

My Mini, starring my mother halfway through, "Happy Motoring!" Apparently, there was a good pic of the car with a nasty version of her, or a bad pic of the car where she looked her normal radiant self. She bit the bullet and let them send me the nice pic of the car.

I just snapped a pic or two of my odometer reaching 1K, it's first birthday (it's 800 + miles from VA to where I am in KY). We're celebrating with a detail session this weekend. I've been dredging the Detailers Corner for tips, so look forward to some nice pics of a very pretty PW Mini.

My JB/JB MCS is scheduled for production May 16th, with delivery around mid-June. My brother ordered his VR/W MC on Friday, with delivery likely within a few weeks of mine. I live in Chicago and he lives in San Jose, but I will still consider us a "two MINI family"! If we ever get the two together, I'll be sure to take a pic and post it.

Yeah, hopefully we will also be a 2 MINI family fairly soon. My wife and I currently share a 2002 MINI Cooper CVT (Pepper White/Black) with 6,500 miles (A keeper).

I currently have on order a 2004 MCS (Chili Red/White Roof) scheduled for October '03 delivery.

I have a 2001 Chevy Impala LS with 20,300 troublefree miles in pristine condition (Will be fully paid off in 3 months), basically just driven back and forth to work (18 mile roundtrip commute). I will put it up for sale in early September in anticipation to the arrival of my new '04 MCS. Wish I could keep the Impala as it is a really nice car in its own way, but can't justify keeping 3 cars and paying insurance for 3 cars, so the Impala has to go. I hope it goes to a new caring home.
