LOL! I did the same thing with my RAZR about 2 months ago. Worked fine for about 3 weeks, then crapped out. So you may not have gotten off so easy...

Just a warning!

Hope it's not snowing now, or you'll have an ice-cube in your pocket.

Pat, the last time I read your post it was 15th, now it's 14th. Are you going down to Zero?

Amazing.

That is a thought...nowadays I have to be really careful about getting my keys exposed to wet stuff.

well yesterday I was carrying a bucket of soap water to wash my car, and I also had my key in that hand (dangling from my index finger) and thought that this oculd drop, so I put all the stuff I was carrying down so that wouldnt happen... better safe than sorry

I sent my key through the Gulf of Mexcio 11 and 1/2 months ago, works great, but 2 months ago the glue on the sitcker that says MINI gave out.

I'll often clean the dust out of the groove (take a pocket knife tip to lossen it then just blow it off) just to make sure nothing gets gummed up in the ingnition.

HoLY Bat excrement(!) $150 for one of those things? That's more than most of my jewelry costs. Maybe it should be worn as a necklace on a 14k chain.

I ran mine through the washer last year and it stopped working, so I got a replacement. One day I tried the old one for the heck of it and it works again!!!

Don't try that with a cell phone.

You'll just have to trust me on that one. (where's the sad face nodding emoticon?)

My key made the same journey Saturday and appears to have died. I guess I will wait and see.... I did think about trying to find some silica gel (camera store?) and bury it in a little pile of that to try and suck any residual moisture out.

My headphones made the journy a few days back...aside from the cord being all curly now, they work great still.

davavd--I haven't a clue if it will work, but if you're looking for the silica powder and can't find it, you might try a craft store like Michael's--it's often used to dry flowers.

I had a thumb drive go through the washer (found it before it wound up in the dryer). Worked fine and no data was lost. I did let it air dye for a few days before I tried to use it.
