How do you Remove the Shift ****?

I was wonder how do I remove the shift **** on my 2004 Cooper?

pull hard, make sure you don't hit yourself, in the face, or elsewhere

Open the sunroof too just in case. Brace yourself for when it does come off... when it breaks free, it can catch you off guard... pull hard though. There is a notch inside the top of the **** that keeps it from twisting, so just pull straight off.
