I received a recall notice on my June '05 build MCSa. Spoke to the service advisor who said it was something to do with the "engine harness". Anyone able to provide more details?

 

Yes, this wiring harness recall addresses a issue in which your car will suddenly go into limp home mode. This is due to a wiring harness rubbing and so putting your car into limp home mode. I'm surprised your dealer hasn't performed the recall on your car already. I guess some cars were affected more then others with this wiring harness issue.

 

Does this involve changing out some wiring components or reflashing the ECU?

 

As I recall they just repair/replace part of the wiring harness.

 

One campaign is to check for abraision to the wiring harness and the other is to re-program the DME.
