Take a look at this link

http://www.r53w11.com/frontseats.htm

Same thing happened to me yesterday at the dealer on their MCS demo. The sales rep took it into the shop and they fixed it in less than 5 minutes. Probably did the same thing as described in the link. Hope this works.

I had the same problem, and I called my dealer twice the first guy said 2hrs and the second guy said it could be up to two days. I took it to the dealer just for them to look at it, and it couldn't have been more then 5 minutes and my MINI came back working perfectly.

All that they did was switch the part with another that looks exactly the same.

This wouldn't have occured due to a session of 'How to Motor in a MINI' from the night before, would it? j/k
Had this happen on the MC Loaner that my dealer gave me when I had my MCS in the shop for an oil change. They fixed it right after. Took them about the same 5 minutes to repair it. Not sure what it was.
How far is your dealer? Maybe let them take care of it.
Cheers,

>>This wouldn't have occured due to a session of 'How to Motor in a MINI' from the night before, would it? I'm assuming it's the passenger seat, but if not, call roadside assistance due to safety issues. Keep us posted!
