LoveSac in a MINI?

No, this isn't a spinoff of the Snakes on a Plane thread. I am looking to buy a LoveSac for my house. For those of you who aren't familiar with them, they are oversized "bean bag" chairs but they're filled with memory foam and they're very comfortable and nice (go to www.lovesac.com if you still don't know what I'm talking about). So I found one on craigslist for a really great price (its 6 feet in diameter) and I was supposed to go look at it tonight. If I liked it I was going to arrange to have it picked up by someone with a Minivan on friday. Well the seller just emailed me and told me that someone else with the means to take it home tonight was also going to come see it. So, that means that if I want it I need to get it home tonight and I don't know anyone that would be available with a large vehicle. Then I thought of the absurd idea that maybe I could stuff it into my MINI. I know LoveSacs come vacuum packed into the size of a box that could easily fit inside a MINI so maybe I could try to just stuff it in there. Does anyone out there have a LoveSac? And what do you think of my idea? I know it's absolutely crazy but I'm desparate and I'm wondering if I should give it a shot...

(I would just rent a truck, but it will cost me about $40 to drive it 10 miles home and the Uhaul place closes early in the evening so I don't know if I could make it there after work... )

I have been able to fit crazy things into my MINI. furniture, 6' christmas tree, 2 bikes, etc... I think you'll be able to do it.

How long is your drive from pick up to delivery?

Do you know the dimensions of the box? Shouldn't be too hard to estimate if they can tell you that.

I've been amazed at what I can fit in the MINI with the seats down. I'd say go for it!

which size are you purchasing. I think anything up, and including, to the moviesac will fit no problems. The next size up might be a sqeeze, but do able.

Its the SuperSac (6 ft) Unfortunately its not in the box anymore (if it was, the box would fit just fine) and it expands quite a bit once its taken out of its vacuum packed wrapping. I know it has the potential to be packed in there but it depends on how much effort it will take to do it. The drive is about 10 miles so its not too bad, I just wouldn't be able to see out the back. I'm leaning toward trying it...

Yea its $200, for a new one of the same size and cover material it would cost me $337+tax from Costco and $500 from the LoveSac store.

Not crazy at all, clarkdr - if it ships in a box that will fit, it will fit. Just don't plan on looking out your rearview mirror! Assuming it's malleable, you can even move the passenger seat up and tilted for more room.
(note: all references to phrases like "Just shove it in there, there's more cushion for the pushin' " and "When you've got a MINI, you can put your lovesac anywhere." should be ignored in the interest of good taste!)

Hey, save that for the Politically Incorrect thread! Actually, I should do a post of some of LoveSac's PI marketing lines...

But just think of tomorrow's thread if it doesn't work out for clarkdr81:

"lovesac too big to fit in the MINI. Rental truck needed to get it home safe. Film at 11"

I would *think* that if you fold the seats down, and fold the front seat forward and push it all the way up, it SHOULD fit with no problem.

Cant the guy just open it up and lay down his lovesac somewhere in the car? I would imagine that it is soft enough to forcibly crush into the corners of his car. I suggest that the guy holds the lovesac while someone else pounds it in with a large mallet maybe.

Well since we have one here at work I decided the best way to find and answer would be to put it in the MINI.

The answer is....

drum roll please

YES, it fits no problem with the back seats down out of the box. So if you like it you can take it home with you tonight. Just don't expect to see out the rear window.

WOW it fit huh? The 6ft one? Thats awesome! Now I just have to make sure I get there before those other fools do. Thanks Greg!

So was it that difficult to push in there? Or as El Jefe suggested, did you have someone hold the lovesac while you pounded it in with a mallet?

So they UNDERCUT me !

Oh the fun of craigslist, the seller is allowing some other douche (can I say that on here?) to come by before me even though I was the first to respond to the ad! Looks like I'll have to find another one because she said she's 99% sure the other person will buy it and here I am stuck at work completely helpless I'll keep you posted when I find another LoveSac to buy, I really want one too. One, because I don't have anything to sit on to watch TV in my room, Two, because they're so dang comfortable, and Three, chicks dig a big LoveSac! Oh well... Thanks for all your responses and for trying it out for me.

Yeah, it was the 6ft. one. Took two of us just because it's awkward to carry because of the size. One person could do it but with two it's easy.

Sucks that they sold it out from under you though.

Very funny post! Sorry about the Craigslist person not honoring the fact that you were first to respond, Clark...that sucks!
