Invisishield or Black Protector on Top of Boot

Last week I purchased a new 06MCS and the invisishield was installed on the front bumper, lights, fogs, and side mirrors. I just ordered the black protector that goes on top of the boot to protect when you sit items down when the hatch is open. My queston. Should I go back and have the invisishield installed or go with the black protector. Does the black protector install by using double sided tape?

Thanks

Hey
Congrats on your new aquisition. The dealer installed my boot protector. I also have an '06 PW MCS and the black guard looks great.

It really would depend on what theme you are going for on your car. Just black and white or mainly a white one.

I think I'm sticking with the plastic boot protector. I'm thinking the black will break up the white pretty nicely. It shouldn't be that hard to install I would think...

I agree that the black one will look very nice on a PW MINI

No. The black OE protector is adhesive-backed. You clean the paint, moisten both surfaces with soapy water, stick the protector on, and squeegee out the bubbles.

Yeah I saw a dealer installed one of these on a Spaceblue Checkmate...it had bubbles in it and with it being located where it is...any bubbles look really bad.

The Moss Mini one has 3M tape under it...just line it up and press it on. Mine's been on my Cooper for 2 yrs. now and is a durable, attractive touch.

My bonnet invisishield has presented me with a very visible white line where it ends mid-bonnet. Anyone know how to remedy this? Any ideas or cures (excpt removing invisishield & ruining paint & buying a new bonnet?

Sounds like you got wax (that dried) under the edge of plastic of the invisishield....if it is just at the edge...try gently scraping away the white, but if it is under it...remeady is remove the invishield....then remove the line, get new shield. A good cleaning of the dried out wax at the edge should clean it right up...heck my shield was installed dec 2004, and the line is barely noticeable......but a couple of cleanings of the edge is needed after a waxing in the first few weeks after it was done....

PS
The invishield can be removed without dammaging the bonnet/paint....it is a temporay medium term product made to protect the paint/surface under it....when the shield becomes tattered, just peel it off...and tge bonnet looks new!!

I am SO protective of my Cricket -- I just spent 3 days doing a complete detail on her & she looks very happy, except for that 'gray hair' across her bonnet. What product do you recommend to 'spot' clean that? It really bothers me
