3. San Francisco, CA, USA

7. Seattle, WA, USA

A lot are from CA. That's funny, because I spent a week in San Bernardino a week ago, and I didn't see a single MINI! A lot of big rims, though. And tint.

I don't think you will see many out east of LA. But if you come up to San Francisco you will see a few. Check out this video of a run with over 70 Minis.

I wouldn't put too much faith in Google Trends. It can only give the geographic location of your ISP router. Some large US-based backbone ISPs often allocate sub-prefixes from a single ISP, making geolocation innacurate sometimes by thousands of miles. It is not surprising therefore that the top searches point to California - e.g., IIRC Verizon has a major ISP router in Irvine, accounting for it's ranking.

Well I guess that explains why Los Angeles ranks so high. We all know there are many more Mini in the San Francisco Bay Area.
