Owners Manual/Service Manual

I did it, I pulled the trigger.... ordered a new Chile Red MCS from John Monk at NashvilleMini on Friday. I wanted very much to get an '06. He said 6-8 weeks for delivery.

Is there an internet site where I can download the owner's manual ahead of delivery?

Can I get the 'full blown' service manual, the version used at the dealer, not the Chilton's or other similar versions?

thanks,

YD

There is. Somewhere on MINIUSA.com, you can download the actual owner's manual, as well as some other "official" documentation. Glad to know I wasn't the only one who did this. I even printed it out! Silly me.

Go to the Owner's Lounge, set up an account if you haven't already. Go to "Your Mini", and there will be a link for the Owner's Manual. Happy reading.

For the service manual, like the dealer's use, its not free. Its called a bently manual. They are $100 brand new, but a used one pops up for $50 every once in a while.

For the actual service manual, you need the BMW TIS CD. It's available on good ol' eBay. Make sure you get a late enough version to cover your car. There are several sellers.

I have used it quite a bit. It's not the world's greatest manual, but it has some great info. (Just a little clunky to navigate and search) As much as it pains me brag on them, Ford has far and away the best electronic service manuals.

Congratulations on the new car! You even got the right color!! Tell us more about it.

Sorry for all the posts.

Here is the link to download it from MINI USA

(You might have to log in.)

Here is the link for the actual manual. It'll take a while to load.

The Bentley manuals don't cover 2006 yet. You'll have to wait awhile. To get an authentic factory manual, you'll have to see about buying it from a Mini Parts Dept.

Nice specs! Kinda sounds familiar to me for some reason. Peek at my gallery. The pics range from bad to horrible, but the subject matter is pretty cool! (I"m an engineer, not a photographer.) I think I've got the only CR/W with the Cordoba Beige/Black interior. Usually only British (Barvarian) Racing Green gets the tan seats for some reason.

You're gonna love it, and it WILL attract attention. Trust me on that!

PS If it's not too late, make sure you get the front and rear foglights. That way, there won't be any gaps in the toggle switch panel.

Thanks guys for your nice comments. I'm planning on getting switches from the parts dept and connecting other stuff to them later.

And since I am a photographer (wedding photographer) I plan to take some really nice pics of my new baby. Assuming I don't kick off from the anxiety of waiting six to eight weeks.

If you get bored, check out my wedding photography site.

Play the albums in the albums section. I plan on making an album like this wtih my Mini pics, and have actual driving sound efx.
