what is this?

Hopefully, this is not too stoopid a question, but this has been bugging me for a while now.

On the dashboard of my MC, there is what looks like a very small 'cherry-top' - a small red translucent plastic dome, just sitting there. I don't have a rain-sensor windshield. My car is an '05 and has the premium and sport packages. What is that little dome? Thanks muchly.

The plastic dome is the sun/UV sensor for the automatic climate control.

It's the ejector seat - tell your passenger to press it.

Seriously, I always heard it was a light sensor for the convenience package.

Perhaps...

The auto temp control sensor.....for your climate control....do not press it or clean it! Then it will become the ejection release!

Hmmm, my wife told me it was a Krispy Kreme detection system. It seems everytime I drive by a K.K. with the hot donut sign on the cars seems to pull in that direction. I just assumed the two were connected

Thanks for the responses, guys. That makes perfect sense that it's the sensor for the auto-air system.

True, but you've got to admit the other explanations (the ones that didn't make sense) were a lot more fun!!!

You're all wrong. When the "invisibility" switch is activated the red light is the only thing that helps locate your car.
