scratches on drivers side window from window track...

i just noticed that my drivers side window has scratches going down the window in two places..looks like where the felt guides ride along the window...anyone else have this? is it covered under warranty? i dont hear any grinding when rolling up or down the windows.i do have the sqeek that others talk about..and it doesnt rattle..im wondering if the previous owner already had the problem fixed but never had the window replaced..

this sux because my car looks brand new other than that, and i was going to get the windows tinited until i saw this..

thanks
Trevor

I don't have scratches but I do get vertical streaks on my drivers window toward the front. I've noticed them when closing the window after highway driving with it partly up. I too have been considering window tinting, but have postponed that mod until I get to the bottom of the streaking issue. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Yep, me too. My 03 MC gets the same aforementioned streaks, although I also have no idea why!

I will admit I noticed them for the first time after I (accidentally) left my windows open overnight. No rain, but there was plenty of condensation.

Did you do a search? I know I've seen this mentioned before in some fashion. Possibly in Detailing 101. I'd check but am feeling kind of yukky and am heading off to bed. After I go clean up the kitchen, put the dogs out one last time, get the kids in bed......
Sigh,
Annette

I sometimes get streaks from grease or something in the window track. Looks like scratches till I wipe it off.

hard to say, your dealer could say it was an "environmental" factor (like hard water spots on my bonnet stripes) and would not be covered under the warranty. however, since window issues have plagued all BMW products (except m'cycles) since time immemorial it wouldn't hurt to ask. Jimbo

I'll contact my dealer as well. The streaks that I'm referring to are also on the inside so now my concern is that they will eventually become scratches in the glass. Thanks for the information!
