Who has two?

A call out to other two-mini households. Are your babies the daily driver or do you break them out just for special occasions. Do you still have other cars? Any fun ideas on what to do when Christmas comes along and you realize you don't have a big car (let alone two little cars) with stable roofs? Share your stories.

Two daily driven MINI's here, and with a factory roof rack capable of carrying 165 pounds, I do have a stable roof for supporting a dead tree at Christmas time.

There are some photos floating around here of trees being carried in convertibles, in the boot, and strapped to the roof. It's just too late at night for me to go find them right now. . ..

Still keep the old Land Rover Defender 90 around for off-road and messy trips to the garden center.

All of ours are used as daily drivers, mine will roll over 104,000 on the way home today.

When we do dump runs or have big hauling needs - we use our Yukon. We have stuffed the MINIs full during shorter weekend trips.

we have two also...his and hers, both daily drivers. I'm eventually looking for a used '05 or '06 to use as my play car. But she's already talking about the turbo model that's supposed to be out soon. Yeah, we're all nuts. I need to live in a garage with all the toys I want to get.

we also have two daily drivers and a beater 97 Subaru Outback sport for home deopt runs & the like. We often send gifts ahead of time to thier location in our faimily members larger vehicles!

We had a VW cabrio and a turbo miata. After we test drove for her MCS, I knew that a one MINI family would not work. Sold my miata last october, my wife actually ordered my MINI as a suprise and gave me my build sheet and Aero grill for christmas!!! (Alta CAI as well!)

Hers:

Prem/Cold/HK/Xenon/Icelink/16" ASA JH6 "Minilites"

His
06 MCS
Prem/Cold/HK/Xenon/Icelink/R-speed Exhasut/Alta CAI Coming: 16" Rota C8's, Hella FF1000, Pulley, rear sway

Two MINI family here. Both daily drivers. We don't have any other vehicles. Not until I can afford the '53 Porsche I saw for sale recently. And then I'll still keep the MNIs of course!

My wife's MCC was the one with the Xmas tree in the backseat!

We have two, well MINI, and then one Mini (classic) They are both daily drivers, unless the snow is too deep, or we need to pull the horse trailer, or move something large.

MY wife and I are seriously considering getting a 2nd Mini for her. It would probably be a BRG auto, non-S.

I can tell you that having a Cooper with CVT transmission is a very welcome change sometimes on long highway trips. I love my modded MCS, but I have tons of fun and love the plain old Cooper too!

Ack, is the CVT the only auto trans option? I'm wary of them, after reading about all these broken belts and $7000 repair jobs.

Where you reading that?? The word I'm hearing from some of the Techs is the Midlands might have been a better 5 speed then the Gertrag. One shop I was in the other day had 3 new tranny's sitting in the corner waiting to be installed.

My wife has the MCSC and I drive the MCS. Both '06.
When we need more room, we use the Murano. (I hate the locks on that thing)

I want a second one... maybe when I have the cabrio paid off (or at least down), I'll look into a gently used, red Cooper S hardtop. I envy you folks that somehow manage to pay for 4 or 5 of the things - hope a rival drug cartel doen't knock you off before you finish paying them off, but if they do, have your next of kin drop me a line and maybe I can take one off your hands.

Two MINI family here - both are daily drivers. Mine makes a 76 mile round trip and my wife's does around 14 round trip. We also have a Subaru Forester for the Home Depot trips and winter weather.

Me: '05 MCS daily driver
Brother: '05 MCS daily driver & race car
SO: '03 MCS not daily driver
'07 Mazdaspeed3 (coming soon to be a daily driver)

I would love to get the Traveler to be my daily driver.

I haven't read about that, but after 8 months and over 13,000 miles on my auto MCS, no problems, and she checked out at her 10k service.

We have a 2006 CVT as our second MINI. My plan is to get the extended warranty if we decide to keep it after 50K.

I found one post from a few days ago 7/11 that had 3 folks that had failures. One of them bought their car with a known failed tranny at 110,000 miles and the other 2 were around 60,000 (I think) The 2 Coopers we have are both CVT's (1 new & 1 at 24,000 miles) so I guess this might be something to keep track of, although my initial search isn't turing up massive numbers; certainly less then those of us with POS glass cracks
