I have had my MC for 9 months now, and today was the first time I actually had 4 adults in it. Not much room for me to drive with!

I've actually had five total (3 smallish women in back), for a 15-minute ride to dinner! If they weren't all so excited to be riding in the MINI, I'm pretty sure there would have been some colorful language thrown about.

Anyone who knows me knows that I need all the room I can get. But I do travel with my two daughters in the back and my wife in the trunk. I mean the passenger seat.

Actually, I've found that the biggest impediment to carrying adults in the backseat of the MINI is the height of the driver. If the driver is over 5.5' and has the seat adjusted properly, there's just no room behind the driver's seat. A somewhat taller passenger can get away with scrunching up close to the dash and thereby giving a bit of footroom to the person sitting behind them...but I'm 6' tall, and there's absolutely no room behind my driver's seat. Most adults don't take kindly to riding with their knees tucked under their chin.

BTW, from the subject, I thought this was going to be a variant on the "sex in your MINI thread."

No problem here, except when I have one of my 6 footer buddies in the passenger seat. His arm tends push over into my personal space and makes shifting a challenge.

On the bright side, I'm no longer stuck with driving when a bunch of the guys at work go out to lunch!

Besides, Fiona is my car for me, not for my passengers.

(BTW as I type, my dealer is putting a CooperFlags Union Jack on the roof )

Yep,

I've had four adults in my MINI on several occasions now, and three quite frequently. Three worked fine bcs my gf is not the tallest gal out there (even though she's the prettiest)
Four was tight bcs I like to have my drivers seat way back, but it definitely can be done.

A couple of weeks ago I had 3 friends in the MINI with me...it went like this....

ME! (driver's seat of course) - 5 foot 6"
my friend Melissa (passenger seat) - 5 foot 4"
TJ (my wonderful boyfriend in the backseat) - 6 foot 6"
Dave (also in the back) - about 6 foot 1"

Love how we put the big guys in the back!!

I've done a few hour long trips with 3 friends of mine. There have been no complaints from the back-seaters (5'4" and 5'8&quot and I am pretty comfy, just move my seat up a notch (I'm 5'6&quot. The back seaters have likened their experience to driving on a train. They love the big side windows. And they love having their own sunroof panel. They keep asking if we can take the MINI when we go out. Guess it can't be all that bad.

Yeah, as opposed to the "sunroof panel" in the back seat of an Eclipse, which is the glass hatch top trying to ram your head down your neck!

The key is to raise your seat up so the rear people have somewhere to put their feet. If the front seats are too low, the toes have nowhere to go.

Hey, that rhymes!

I had four adults in my old Mini (1966). We were pretty comfortable for around town, and they were pretty good sized guys. When we stopped at the Jack In The Box, people really stared, and we forgot why!

The new MINI seems like it has a big back seat, just no room for your feet. If you jack the seat up (height) is there room for feet underneath the front seat?

After I first got my car, me and 2 other friends went on a 2500 mile road trip, so there was 3 of us, plus all our stuff! It wasn't too bad, (we're all under 6 ft), but my one friend kept referring to the car as "the Apollo Space Capsule".

I actually test drove the mini with 4 adults in it! I (5'-6&quot was driving (obviously). The dealership guy was next to me (5'-10"ish). And my hubby (6'-1"!!!) and mom (5'-7&quot were in the back. We drove around for 15 minutes or or and they said it was great! LOVE the mini!

I'm 6'2", when one of my older kids is behind me, I feel like I'm driving a go-kart, with my knees almost at shoulder height, no adult in their right mind would want to sit behind me.

<grin>

as bad as the MINI backseat is, it could be worse. I've got a '93 Probe GT. The leg room in the back is probably about the same, but the seats aren't shaped nearly so well. I had one LARGE guy in the back seat along with myself (I'm not a small person), with a LARGE blind man in the passenger seat along with his guide dog on his lap and partly in the footwell (he's a 115 pound german shepherd). My SO was driving at the time. The suspension really really didn't like that treatment. For that matter neither did most of the people in the car
