How soon after you got your Mini did something bad happen?

I'm just curious. I'm wondering what is the worst thing that has happened to anyone's mini in the shortest period of time since purchase. I have had mine for a week and nothing has happened yet!

Rock chips don't count

after One month being a happy MINI owner, someone "KEYED" my MINI and left a long scratch under the gas door

I was so pissed cuz I even did wash and wax my car at the same day before it happened

on the second day driving back to Los Angeles, from Salt Lake City MINI of Murray, outside of Las Vegas ... "abosolutely nailed the largest tumble weed I have ever seen (and not seen)... I did see it coming at the last minute, but no where to move to, going up a hill with gamblers with no money, you see..."

I think Ollie was only a few weeks old when his windscreen developed a stress crack... it was all downhill after that :impatient :impatient

Hit by a coke can on the freeway that someone chucked out their window. My MINI was 1 month old. Left some scars I had to patch up

While driving home from the dealer, I realized that this car was going to cost me a LOT of money ... far more than I originally realized.

Two weeks after I got my Mini, I was driving out of a parking lot, there was a hedge that obscured my view, before I could see past the hedge.... BAMM, some bicyclist slams into my car and literally lands on my windshield. Luckily the bicyclist was OK, but "Rudy" had some serious damage to his bonnet and had to go to the autobody shop.

Got keyed 4 months after delivery. It was a big "F" on the passenger side hood. Then a few months after, had to get the cracked windshield replaced. I'm still waiting to fix the passenger side door dents

I had gotten the dreaded windshield stress crack about a year into ownership (bought new in March/April '05). It was replaced on them. I don't count normal stuff like paint road pings.

Zip

SES light after 250 miles, took it to the dealer, then again 100 miles later. Turned out to be a faulty fuel pressure regulator.

yep, a shopping cart rolled down an incline in a parking lot and rammed into my passenger door. It probably travelled slower than it felt at the time but the sound of hitting my my passenger door was felt in my heart.

As you would expect, it was a cart that started moving without anyone fessing up or apologising... of course.

Got bumped from behind in the rain when the car was two weeks old. By a black Porsche 928S. No damage to MINI, Porsche's grill was broken...

Car was a few weeks old and I had already started to see SES and EML lights due to the poor software in the MCSa tranny. Several visits to the dealer later and they finally had the recall to replace the wiring harness.

Curb rash the night I took her home from the dealership. Let's just say that the MINI is much more responsive than my prior car was!
