R50/53 Sad, scary... refreshing?
Don't know if any of you ever saw this, I don't think they are deserving a flame, as it will only make them prouder and work harder. But just as interesting info and stuff your dealer won't tell you.

Any one who dislikes a car which has won award after award and has critics drooling all over it obviously doesn't know much about cars and driving. If another car company brought it out again but improved it so much it made our minis look shi* then I would probably get jealous too. MINIs are better than Minis ten fold (and they know it)
The purists will always be with us. (...the snobs!) I'm not surprised really...are you? I mean the classic Mini was around and little changed for a long time. However, all the US Mini owners I've met have been really enthusiastic about the MINI...totally cool. We get together often...no problem...lots of excellent vibes. Let's all work towards that. The MINI deserves to stay connected to its glorious roots.

Wouldn't have bought a classic MINI. NIce little box, but no real style. The new MINI is all about beautiful from every angle. This guy ought to take on EVERY car maker who departs from the original design. I know it bothers some folks that MINI is really a German design now, but hey, art is art, and if I'm really buying a Beemer in disguise, then so be it. At least I can afford this one!!!
Those bmw-mini haters... it's a British thing that we yanks just don't really get. I actually think it has something to do with national pride and the pathetic state of British industry. But whatever, it's not really about the car
