Wiper fluid and open windows

After 4000 miles the only real question I have about the design of the MINI is the fact that when I'm driving at 30mph or above and I want to clean the bugs off my windshield (OK more like 60mph and above) the wiper fluid travels around the side of the windsheild and sprays all over me and my passenger. None of my previous 7 cars have had this issue, even at high speed (a few drops, maybe, but not on the scale of a spray). Kind of annoying to have to raise the windows on hot days until the fluid dries up. Seems like the gutter is not deep enough to catch excess fluid. Anybody else notice this?

Look at the aerodynamics of the windshield. Its a flying brick, not exactly swept back and any angle. Hence ... you get wet

That, my friend is a MINI quirk. You can either sell the car or adapt. Adaptation involves squirting at stop lights or rolling up the window during the process. It usually only affects the drivers side as that is the direction the wipers sweep. Yes, its annoying but its a MINI.

Like i said, it's my only question regarding an otherwise well thought-out machine. Sell the gekko because it sprays me?

I'll take adaptation for $500, Bob.

A lot of short bursts. Takes longer to get window clean, but only a few drops get in. To be one with a MINI you have to think like a MINI.

From scanning the other squirter-related threads, make sure to close your eyes against the burning acid until you've used up all the factory-supplied squirter fluid.
