R50/53 More than two weeks...
Hey,
I was just thinking of how cool it is that there still isn't that many minis around where I live. I haven't seen another mini in over two weeks. How often do you other mini drivers see mini's?

I have had my MCS for over 2 months and have seen 3 other MINIs. Not many around here in Columbus OH.
And I agree - it's nice to drive a car that not many others have. The thing is, it's not really unattainable. I mean, it's not expensive, it's not hard to get (the local dealer has MCs in stock and teh MCS was not that big of a wait for me).... It may just seem too impractical for some.
The weird thing about THAT is that it was the practicality that sold me (gas mileage, comfort, space (compared to my 1999 Toyota Pickup), and value. This was quite simply the best choice available to me. Of course I fell in love with the car long before that.......
Hard to believe there aren't more on the road.

Tons of 'em out here in LA. I see a couple every time I'm on the road and there's a sweet S in my parking garage. It's Indi Blue with the Storm brakes - I know they're pointless but they're pretty
i'm on vacation in hawaii right now, and I've seen 4 MCS and MCs in Kailua. I guess there's only 40 on the island. They were talking about it coz the car show was in town and they were expecting a spike in sales.

I live in a smaller city than Portland in Central Oregon (Eugene), I've had my car since mid Feb. and though I'm aware of a couple other MINI's in town, I've see only one while I've been behind the wheel- an MCS the same color as my MC (PS/B).
>>Tons of them here in our area. I see at least 3-4 a day - on the weekends I've seen as many as 10 - pretty cool

>>Which is funny since we're just on the other side of Dulles Airport from guys and we don't see nearly as many on our side of the airport. We know they are there.... maybe there hiding... I know its a vast right/left (choose your favorite side) wide conspiracy against me!!!
Unfortunately, there is always SO MUCH TRAFFIC that I rarely get the other's attention unless traffic happens to stop at the right time
There are only a handful in Louisville - I see one every 4 or 5 days, which includes mine, since I won't get it for another week or so. I even work with a woman who wants a small, 2-door hatch-back but is thinking of getting a Golf. Maybe after I get my MINI and she sees it she'll change her mind.
I live in New Orleans. The closest dealer is in Baton Rouge. Over the past few months, I've seen 2 on a regular basis. A chili red in the warehouse district and a british racing green in the french quarter. Had a couple of random sightings. No CS's. Mine's on the way!
In the last two months, I am starting to see a lot more MINIs in Charlotte. There are two at my church. I average seeing about one a day now. Before the last couple of months, it was about one a week.
With the production numbers they are running, soon they will be quite common for those in metro areas. I guess this is good and bad. More smiles and thumbs up in a day, but we lose the rarity effect.
