35,000 miles...my free maintenance will end soon

My free 36,000 mile maintenance will end soon as Umberto has reached 35,000. My next scheduled maintenance as my electronic display informs me is not until 4500 more miles so that will cost me....but in the mean time, before I reach 36,000, are there any maintenance issues I can have the dealer address now so it would be done for free?

Have them fix all of the broken stuff. . .

I'd have your brake pads and rotors checked to see if they are due for a change. Chances are that you may need either the front or the rear or both done.

I can't think of anything else though . .

I'm in a similar position.
Have others considered methods to make sure the brakes are worn out by 36K to score the brakework from the dealer?

Hi there - mine is coming up too. I bought my mini used from a BMW dealer - I still get the 36K warantee. Does anyone know if it matters what dealer I bring it to, or do I have to locate the original dealer? I want to get all the broken stuff fixed!!

If it is a 2002-2004, have them replace the vents right in front of the windshield. The foam under them breaks down and falls apart. The new style vents do not have this foam.

Get your drive belt replaced for free. If they ask why (they shouldn't though) just tell them you thought you heard it sqeal and got worried.

I just had mine replaced.

If you have not had them change your oil in the last 12 months, you are due for a free oil change.

The brake flush is only every 20k miles, so doubtful they will do that.

Yeah, basically what you want to do is just take it in and tell them what you want them to check out, and have them do whatever they can. Depending on the dealership, they won't just replace things if you say you "heard it squeal", but when I took my MINI in to get it checked out right before my warranty was up, they did my brakes as a courtesy. It just all depends.

As a part of brainstorming this thread full of everything we need to check:
Before taking it in, probably ought to

- look for RUST
- check for bad pixels in the Sat Nav screen
- brake wear check

(I saw that thread a while back and don't want to look through all 16 pages)

Get Brakes Done Under Warranty

Get your brakes done under warranty. I had a local shop inspect my brakes and had the dealer replaced them just before the service plan expired. By the way, the dealer may not tell you that they need to be replaced.

My neighbor used to work at BMW service, and she told me that the dealerships have maximum warranty service amounts, and that to stay under that number they don't look for extra warranty items on cars when they are performing service to vehicles. Get the most out of your service plan!!!
