You can get them here: http://www.mossmini.com/Shop/ViewPro...17&SortOrder=1

I guess they would work if you experience paint pitting in that area.

You could also get cear bra cut to size for that area! I did that for the rear deck area.

From my experience doing several laps at the local dirt track (lapped within 2 seconds of race time) the plastic arches get beat up, so why bother.

I have them as much for the visual "line" that they impart to that part of the car - makes it look a little more curved and less square down there. I am sure they are giving some protection as well...

I am somewhat ambivalent about the covers. I ordered the magnetic ones when I placed the order for the car. I really can't say whether they have protected the car from rock impacts or not. If I had it to do again, I probably would have considered the clear urethane (clear bra and the like) as an alternative.

55k miles on my 2003 MCS. Not a single rock chip in the area without any protection.

I have the magnetic ones on my car, just like in the picture. I am not sure how much they protect, I just wanted them for the style.

Ihave been running them for a while, and the only pain is having to remove them to wash the car. Otherwise, I think they add a little "uniqueness" to my DS/B (read ubiquitous) MCS.

cheers,

honestly, I have no scratches or chips around that area...
but there were knicks on my aero sideskirts near the rear
wheel arch. so I made my own clearbra out of the
excess I had from the front bumper kit and that took
care of that.

Standard MINI part. Order from Classic or your local MINI dealer.

I too asked about those when first buying because I thought they had that "cool" 930 Turbo look but my MA said to NOT buy them. They dont do anything and could scratch the paint.
